Ya probably right when did ickis make grand Ch?, man you can say he was better , that's you're opinion and I'll respect that If people where to post there hounds you probably have about 10 + pages open on this thread about how good that Bullet cross with theirs and I'll bet you they happy,so to each his own I guess, last I recall Bullet was the ONLY son of Black Angel to make (Champ) do you know of any other that I may have forgotten ? Bullet was not in same league as Ickis, Ickis was run dry and had about 10 hours of time.. Buddy of mine beat Ickis and lost to Black Angel and seen many of those others go.. Ickis was great dog just too much wear on his tires.. Bullet was good hound though no knock on him.. Ickis was also a producer they could breed him to boxers and get bulldogs..Ch Sonora was true monster, she wasn't a 10 mouth but she had the intentions and was a nasty bitch ch Sombra also.. Misfit from what my boy said had damn good mouth and would of been famous.. I believe Thor still around not sure where tho..

 

I believe you breeding it perfectly.. My buddy bred to Bullet 2 I think 3x never got much a few cold ones which was expected some with some mouth and 1 that was biting a good all around dog was a Lil too straight forward.. Looking back we both agree we should have taken linebred Eli bitch to him or something heavy line or inbred to him.. Some Eli for sure or even some Frisco.. I think a nice Homer bitch would have been perfect but I was thinking bout breeding mh heavy Maverick bitch to some Bullet blood just to see but my heart is set on finding some Ickis...

I still would choose bullet before ickis not nocking em, never did just stated black angel had only one son that made champ,also has produce in the short time that he was here. ickis is bread right a complete package has also produce, but I would still choose bullet. That's just me to each his or her own, although bullet & something of ickis yes sir, I would deff jump on that would be really stupid if I didn't, just real talk

I have heard about Black Angel though, a buddy of mine was on a Federal vacation with Bullard a few years back (Ohio at the time.) Bullard had him convinced Black Angel was the real deal.

He is very real and his mom and dad were brother sister Little Gator x Annir were not.. This type of breeding has produced plenty of good dogs I assure you

I stand corrected sir,Joe black was off a brother x sister breeding. The brother and sister's parents (Little Gator x Annie) was a brother x half sister breeding. I like the brother x half sister breedings, and readily admit that there have been some real good dogs produced when bred that way. But, to then breed a brother and sister off a brother x half sister and get a competitive bulldog, is frankly hard to believe. I'm not saying it didnt happen, or that it isnt possible, I just have great doubt about him as a legitimate and high caliber box dog. His producing record is much easier to believe (if out crossed.) When you say "This type of breeding has produced plenty of good dogs I assure you," are you speaking of that specific blood, or that breeding practice? I would beg to differ if you are suggesting that such tight breeding practices in bulldogs in general has produced "plenty of good dogs." Of course the words "plenty", and "good" are subjective to what your definition of those words mean. Example "plenty" to you may be three, and whats "good" in your opinion, may not be good in other peoples opinion.

Well, pretty much any legitimate dog listed champion or Grand Champion in the SDJ when Kelly ran it. Off the top of my head, I cant recall any bred that tight. While we are talking about it, Little Gator proved to be a producer, but how was he in the box? Just curious, good producers dont have to be great box dogs.

 

There are some, I'm not a fan of brother/sister breedings I like half as well but these breedings do happen from time to time and produce good ones
