all that sparks and fishburne is colby, creamers bitch was a colby bitch.. with tight bullyson art sandwiched between.. Gopher was Colby, Trahan racal, and sliver of tight bullyson .. Seizer is that sarona on bottom is founded on Cid and other clouse dogs.. Sybil is Colby, Heinzl, Red devil Maximillian sandwiching that ruffian stuff.. .. and Red devil himself is heavy colby down the 7. Loposay, armitage, clark, sparks, e.crenshaw, fishburne all of them used colby primarily using ofrn as outs.. If you look at those dogs like panama red they were pure colby therefore passing on pure colby traits. .. The reason Boogieman has great conformation for what is a scatterd dog is becuase down that 7 shows exactly why.

Thus .. Colby is the most consistant line or family out there.. for more than 100yrs.

I left my post yesterday with a tinge towards the Boogieman that is a mod. I really didnt intend for it to come off like that. I guess to me the Boogieman dog is the dog that produced some of what I feed and we owned the littermate sister to him. Damn fine Bulldog and produced damn good too.

Boogieman the guy here has some excellent looking hounds and does a fine job shaping them and bringing home the trophy's. The dogs he is breeding are successful in their endeavors.

  8. Don't worry I didn't take it that way. The Boogieman dog you speak of is a fine animal also and I have no doubt your dogs are indeed good ones. Some people are aware of one but not the other. I've always liked both. Goes both ways. I just simply took it as you being partial to the one you like :)

Thanks for the nice words about mine.

Neither of those dogs are in tip top shape like some in the thread, but they show consistence and conformation both.

Are the Colby dogs worth feeding? As in I think it would be pretty nostalgic to own one that had a similar look to the A-typical Colby dogs. Like what is shown above.

I doubt myself would buy one as I am pretty partial to my particular line of dogs. It is what I know and have known for almost 20yrs. However as a pet and house dog, thinking a pure Colby might be a nice option.

i always get a giggly when folks dismiss colby dogs as just "pet and house dogs"

I'd feed a yard "FULL" of them! I have a great love for them though. They are not for everyone, just as with any dog.
I did not pay for mine, just paid gas to drive to get him, which was probably way more than any dog is "worth" being sold.
I'd drive all the way back to get another, which I likely will one day. Next time I am going to stay out there longer though. It was a turn and burn trip.

He is a great dog for the house. He will let me know when someone comes to the doors, hops like a dang po-go stick and barks and growls, which would scare most folks. He is not people aggressive, but has barked and growled at a couple scared people. As any bulldog, they feed off fear. Never bit anyone or he would not be here.
The line would throw some awesome crosses for you, I'll bet on that!

Wow I never read so many experts about dogs they know nothing about. i.e. Red Devil.BTW Red Devil was a Corvino dog, not Colby.Max's mother was 1/16 Colby.Form to function is great thing to have. You've to have conformation to achieve a task. Conformation makes it a lot easier to achieve the task. Now without the other part of the equation you don't have Pit Dogs you just have AST.There is only ONE line of dogs who produced TWO All Around recognized champions.Of this line, one of the two dogs was the only female ever to be recognized as a dual champion. So when it comes to producing complete package dogs, there is only one line to ever to known to do so and it is from the Red Devil line of dogs.It is Ironline Kennels.BTW Congrats Miss Voodoo of CA.
