Met John at a show back in late 1980 or early 90s , and could see right off this was a tough guy , he was a top dog man , and had a strain of very game dogs ,,

You're most welcome david, I just wish somebody who knew him better had wrote a book on him! Honest man, he was shrewd as a fox, game as a mongoose and kept a yard of dogs proven beyond question!

 

Sorry david.. Only noticed this.. John was a much better dogman than me, yes I knew him, although I wasn't close with him at all. He owned a 1xw female that I bred, who also produced a 2xw called Xara.. John's foundation blood was Limey's Dillinger and Scotsman's Max.. Around the end of the 80's I owned a triple bred Limey's Nelis 2xw Called Scar that was sired by a dog callled Sundance 2xw and of course I ran a successful version of the Reid blood for a while too, so I guess me and John had similar ideas up to a point! But you're right bro! John really was some guy!

Met oddbod a few times .... he was a rough bloke for sure ... i bought a dog he had bred and i wanted it to go back to him as it had been passed around a few times and it was all his blood ... i’d never seen a dog with such a proven working pedigree and it was all his dogs ! ... he started off with a brother / sister mating ! Like oldguy says the fella was a legend in the dog game ! He told me about knocking butcher out ...i also repected his wife alot as she still never sang like a canary and ended up doing time

 

Oldguy ... bludds last was against barney ..barney was the dog that i was on about mate .... still have him in mine as i had a daughter of his .... i saw barney when i went to pick her up ... yarrakin had barney for a while

 

A lot of RESPECT for people that KEEP their MOUTH SHUT. Because 99% of people can not keep their mouth shut.

 

If Yarrakin had the Barney dog, then I'd say he more than likely took pups off him, I had a few dogs from Yarrakin and all good ones.. I never put much faith in the pedigree from either Rustler or Yarrakin, but when they bred a litter, you could be sure both parents were bulldogs.

 

Was he sometimes known as john the dog?

 

How was it filmed was it a documentary like panorama or something? more educating needed about this fellas.Maybe i saw it but cant remember.

 

Nah! It's more simple than that mate! Mike Butcher and the RSPCA always brought cameras to film raids on dog yards.. I've heard Butcher probably owns the best archive of photos, magazines and books in the UK due to all the dog paraphernalia he confiscated in raids over the years.. Also true Butcher probably knows more about pedigrees and the history of Bulldogs than most on this site.. He can easily impress with his knowledge of history and pedigrees and I believe he now trains a new generation of undercover RSPCA officers in the techniques of infiltrating working dog circles, it's like proper James Bond stuff..

When they Bust Ramrod's yard years ago, they filmed the bust and used the footage on the national news, they done the same with others and it was no different when they raided Odbod, only thing was it backfired on them big time coz it was 'Ding Ding John's in the ring, with a left and a right and Butcher was sleeping all night' haha!

We all laugh about now, but I never forget all the dogs Mike Butcher has murdered over the years, thousands of them, children's pets as well as working dogs, he never gave a fuck so long as he exterminated pitbulls! Again I say there is a known so-called UK dogman who stood in a pub having a pint with Butcher and had his photograph taken with him.. IMO that's no more excusable than having two daughters and allowing yourself to photographed having a pint with Ian Huntley.

 

And loads still buy stuff off the said fella ... i wouldnt piss on him if he was on fire !

 

Butcher was actually on this site years ago and he never even tried to hide under a false name . Couldnt believe the people who used to crack on to him even when they knew who he was

Didn’t he try to make some lame excuse mate to get out of it when people confronted him about the photo ... i saved it me ..so him and others who are close to him never forget !
