SOmeone closed the ohter thread because they thought it was just a rumor. All I was trying to do is give a heads up. Dog men need to know whats happening so we can be prep[ared. Govt is taking dogmens land and we need to know.

but someone thinks cus the liberal media was slow to report it that i was just making it up. Well I wasn't unfortunately. The proof is below.

A Picture Rocks woman who was acquitted of dogfighting and animal-cruelty charges in November 2008 still must forfeit the property where she raised the dogs.

Pima County Superior Court Judge Stephen Villarreal ruled Monday there was "probable cause" to believe the property, formerly owned by Emily Dennis, had been used to commit felonies for financial gain and for the breeding and selling of dogs for fighting and must be forfeited.

Dennis and her partner, Mahlon T. Patrick, were charged with two counts of dogfighting and 21 counts of cruelty to animals in February 2008, but Judge John Leonardo of Pima County Superior Court ruled there was insufficient evidence to convict them.

The 110 dogs seized from the couple were euthanized shortly after the couple was arrested; the county said the animals were aggressive or injured and could not be adopted.

Attempts to reach the couple's attorneys were unsuccessful.

Last March, Deputy County Attorney Kevin Krejci said there is nothing unusual about pursuing civil forfeiture of assets, even when a defendant has been acquitted of criminal charges.

The standard of proof is lower in civil forfeiture. The state must prove the property in question was used to facilitate criminal activity or was obtained with proceeds of criminal activity by a preponderance of the evidence, while in criminal cases, prosecutors must prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.

"Speaking generally, not about this case in particular, being acquitted means the state was unable to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt," Krejci said. "It doesn't necessarily mean that criminal activity didn't occur on the property in question."

Pima County Barbara LaWall said this might be the first time in the U.S. that a residential property has been forfeited because it was used as a site for breeding and selling dogs for fighting.

"This is a significant accomplishment and a major victory over those who abuse animals," LaWall said in a prepared statement. "My office will continue vigorous enforcement of the law to protect animals."

jesus h christ on a bike, i thought some of our new laws were beyond a joke. But across the pond because a judge summises (has no concrete evidence) they might have held dog fights he has the right to confiscate their home its just beggers belief !!!!!!! So much for the land of the free.

 

it still the home of the free. the thing is though they ain't going to just let you flaunt your freedom in the governments face. some things need to stay private behind closed doors. especially if there frowned apon by JQ public. he had all the opportunity in the world to do as he please but he chosen to be in the lymlight for a long time. there have been folks just as successful as him except they flew under the radar that's the difference.

The patricks were aquitted which means the law had nothing on them,that should have been the end of it!!! No judge here would be allowed to confiscate your property just because he or she believes you might have had a dog fight on your property. I cant get my head around that one. Next it will be judges convicting murderers because they belive they may have commited murder. Thats just bullshit.

oldtymer like LWG said missed the bus. yes shit is fucked up just have to deal with it. was it right no but those are the consequences when you are totally obliviously to whats going on. there is a witch hunt & we all see whats been going on. you don't see other folks advertises there vice's or exploits online, magazines, books. the folks doing that are paying for it. some times shit will bite you in the ass down the road.

 

civil suits will always get you.

there's been an instance here in OH where someone w/ a ccw legally defended their life with deadly force. the family of the dead PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED CRIMINAL successfully sued the person who defended himself after trying to de-escalate the situation, following what he was taught during his courses (trying to remove himself, etc etc).

he will lose all he has, and his family has a suffered as a result. and this dead p.o.s. criminal's family are riding the waves of the "justice system."

kind of a bass-ackwards system, if you ask me.

 

I feel bad for them, I realize they loved being in the lime light but neither of them are spring chickens anymore and what are they suppose to do now. What a shame is really all I can say...

 

yes it's a fucked up situation for them. i wish things weren't like they are now. hopefully PP can turn to his family for help he comes from old money. & hopefully folks will see what's going on & learn to keep there head down & not repeat the things that get you looked at.

 

Please help us to save the farm. We need ten thousand to appeal this bad decision that was not based on the merits of the case, since there are none, but on a mistake a previous attny made in the onslaught of filings to try to take the property in question. Our address is PO Box 1530, Cortaro, Az 85652. The plan is to run us out of money this way so we cant fight back. Dont let this precedent stand as it allows the next guy up to have even less rights than us, and that isnt much. The slander continues as you can see by the article. We never get to say our side of things, its always one way, their side, and thier side is untrue and lies. This whole case was based on assumptions and lies from the HSUS and their collaborators and nothing was based on fact or any evidence of any crime. Even the judge could see that.

im going to send a money order. people should think about helping. like their post says if they can do it to them they can do it to anyone. now if the appeal doesnt work it will make it that much easier for them to do it to anyone.they need to bring it to a higher court above that judge.

 

money orders are nice but if someone doesnt do something about this bs then it will be pointless. awful lot of money orders gonna be gettin sent out. Thats beyond BS, i cant come up with the words....

 

atleast itll give them a fighting chance bro. if they dont fight it like i said its gona be able for other courts to use this case as their backone to get convictions. its a pathetic day now and we lose our freedoms each day more and more. not even with just the dogs but will alot of right that we dont even think about. its only gona get worse mark my words.
