    "Red Joe" won three contract matches and lost one,in 1 hr 3mins to Dillenger, a very good K.C Staff bred from "Jepsons gamestock". He was also set down on other occasions that were not recorded,proving himself to be a game, honest Stafford.
    "Joe" beat his half-brother "Rocky" in 20 mins.
    He then defeated "Ben"(EBT) in 40 mins and finally "Joe" was the victor in 48 mins against "Paddy". In his loss to "Dillenger" he was picked-up game to save his career as a stud dog,due to his opponent having a hold of "Joe's" ball's! (This is taking nothing away from the winning dog,as "Dillenger" was a very good Stafford in his own right and was well capable of winning the match regardless.) Red Joe was a very popular stud dog in his day,siring over 70 pups,many going abroad to working Stafford fanciers in countries such as Holland, Sweden, U.S.A.and Israel.
    He was,of course,the sire to some excellent offspring at home in England.

    The above article is a crock of BS , the Joe dog won one match only over a English Bull called Ben in 18 mins . He was never matched into Rocky but was rolled and picked up in about twenty mins as Rocky was damaging him , the Rocky dog was much bigger than Joe and Joe was recovering from being sick , they were never matched as there was a 5lb weight difference . The Joe dog lost his only other match to Dillinger , so he was a one time winner one time game loser he was not a Champion . He was howevor a game dog and great looker and produced a few game dogs and dont need BS to give him his rightful place in the history of the game

    The truth about the joe dog it was used with g.g where it was matched into rocky t.h owned rocky.the match went 28 mins and rocky stood the line. He was sold after to a.b who then matched him into Reno the Reid bred pitbull where he also stood the line at 30 mins. Joe was then matched into dog called tank or tinker who quit after 25 mins. He was beat by dillinger although joe was 42lb which was 2 lbs under his wieght. But the end would have probley been the same. The roll after with rocky was a terrible mistake rocky was let down for match and joe was coming off a illness and poor joe payed the price.the same venue rocky the weaton v rocky a son of the phantoms Ben and the phantoms ben was v a.b ben. There was plenty of witnesses to this event
    100% joe did better rocky. Thank you
