How good are the lines of dogs in Australia these days, in particular Jeep/Redboy. 20 years ago I owned a couple of scatter bred Jeep line bitches as pets, they were big 60 and 75 pounds. I'm guessing that the modern dogs are much better bred as their popularity with so much banning has really dropped off leaving mostly enthusists and getting rid of the back yard puppy mills. Any opinions much appreciated.

I probly wouldnt go as far as saying they are alot better.
Back yard breeding is as rife as ever if not the worst it has been and there are a few peddlers hocking watered down dogs for unreasonably high prices.

There are some real good dogs around you just need to work hard to find them but they are here.

Jeep/rb is pretty much what anyone loser with a red nose dog claims they have, they name drop to sell the pups. And lie about the papers.

I have allways had Jeep/rb dogs myself as thats what i could get my hands on from a decent fella.

75 pounds is a big dog mate biggest male i have had is 50 pounds, have seen a couple bigger but not as big as yours.

Ill also take a smaller type bulldog over the larger type,in saying that either way is fine as long as its a dog worth feeding.

Definanatly i have one extreame to another grace is as small as they come and stage is big for a APBT, so much easier to ahndle grace, stage is a workout just leading him, as shows i have to lead him by holding his collar or im just going to get pulled onto my ass.

hell look what that started lol... you fella's get ya nickers in a knot to easily:rolleyes:
as for the quality of some of the ozzy dogs, well lol...all i can say is there are a few people that wish they never found out:p

as for SK'S, sure they had plenty of good petbulls with the likes of,
ch Buster, ch Barney, ch Tyson, ch Kobra, Bony, Black Girl, Rocky etc,etc.......

lets just say to answer the OP's question the lines of dogs in Australia are doing just fine, not that much different from anywhere else, there's good and bad everywhere. i will say that the ozzies did blend together certain strains a little differently some time ago and maybe thats the difference.
would i say world competitors...dam straight.
Jeep Redboy aint really my thing, sure they're out there but you will most deffinately hear more about those x's more from the byb's etc.
i see the turm scatterbred arises once again.
thats a turm that when i read it, it just puts a great big grin on my face, its deffinately not something im going to get into a debate about with anyone because most just can't get there heads around it.;)
as for your large dogs, well i can say that there have been a few large dogs come out over the years, perhaps and more than likely the Reid blood that was used contributed to a few, not forget'n a few of the ol Sorrells dogs threw some larger one's out there also.
ive owned both, infact i not to far back just lost my last pure Reid dog, he was 50lbs, 50lbs 11oz to be exact.
The Sorrells dogs have all been around that weight in my neck of the woods also, along with the Sorrells/Reid, Sorrells/Redboy etc...

hope i answered a few Q?....for ya, cheers people.:)
