    Hi Ed Reid's,
I'm waiting to confirm that myself, I got him from a guy up the country via the internet, we met at antrim, the papers never turned up & i'm still trying to get them, it could be a case i never do, but my nephew suggested he might be micro-chipped so i'll get him scanned and see if i can turn up the privious owners details and take it from there.

Here's a young dog belonging to a local lad, one year old so he's still got some maturing to do, I think he looks great, Seamus McNutt said it's his favorite colour when we showed him these pics last week, he recon's he's a very nice old type stafford.
    What do you guys think?

    Hi Mike
The young dog was checked recently in the Pets At Home, hight 19in and weight 45 pounds, I'm going to take the red boy over and see what they make of him, I recon around the same weight or a pound or two more now, maybe an inch shorter but that's an educated guess for now

Me again, I just thought i'd share another of my past dogs, a Brindle, only ever had 2 this colour, the first was the bitch i bought when i got my first pair of Staffords, the only other brindle was a black brindle bitch, the standard brindle is nice or a slightly lighter shade like 12Gauge posted, but Red is my favorite.

hehe i know, you're right, the young dog is looking better everytime I see him, i'd say another 6 months will see his full potential, but he's already nice, stick up a pic of your dog, good luck

Thank you, it's good to get a positive feedback from others who know the breed, it'll give his owner some inspiration

Legs straight and well-boned, set rather wide apart? if my memory serves me right the legs should not be very wide apart or too close?,
Ears: Rose or half-pricked? no just rose if breeding for the ideal look?
Head and Skull: Short, deep through, broad skull, very pronounced cheek muscles, distinct stop, short foreface, black nose?? short foreface?? what is he supposed to get a hold with? their so short now they barely have a palate and gag for breath, Black nose?? God help anyone with a red nose dog lol
and finally >>>Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum, I'm inclinded to agree a Stafford dog should have Balls, Big Balls the size of a Gorilla, in fact many of the old type bitches had Balls?? hehe, but if having Balls is part of the KC standard then none of todays show staffords meet the requirements.

Sorry man I gotta disagree with your last comment about all show staffords not having balls, every show stafford I know have balls even mine teddy bear, only today he tried to go into two ridgeback/doberman cross, who were big mother fu**ers, that takes balls.

Ah but is yours KC reg'd or like the brindle champion freak that was posted here recently? I know some KC reg'd dogs are still in porportion although not as big as the old type dogs, like FJ'S dogs, you see him & his wife walking them and they do good milage, but quite a few are like jack russels.

But would he still have balls when he's on the losing end or when he's out of breath?

I meant proportioned, im definately not going to make it as a secretary? So you've a pocket rocket? what colour is he?

yes he is kc reg and a show dog as well, only shown a couple of times as he doesn't like standing still for the judges, lol. The last show he got a first, a second and two reserves. The best thing about the day was when the judge commented on my dog being in great condition well muscled and he reminded her of the old time staffs which made my day.

    Hi jdll13,
He was still willing to go when my cousins american bulldogs x mastiff got a hold of him another huge dog, everytime he see's him he goes nuts and wants another go. As for when he's out of breath I don't know, but he is super fit.

He's certainly is a pocket rocket and he is red and white

If he got placed 1st and 2nd & 2 reserves and the judge commented on him reminding her of the old type, you must have a nice stafford, obviously the judge prefers them more as they used to be than what they are today and yours reflected that in her eyes.
was he taller than the majority of the others there on the day?
I don't doubt that many KC reg dogs are game to have a go, but the majority of the modern show dogs are just too small, the "heart is willing but the flesh is weak", what I mean is > even a KC stafford from 20 years ago could kill any of the big ordinary breeds, todays small staffords might back them off and could cause a nasty cut or two but would lack the power to be able to really mangle them, Not that you want your dog doing that generally but in a couple of occasions in the past I got my ass saved by a stafford being able to do it, once was when I was attacked by a Securicor GSD, the Red dog I sold Sean Casey saved my beacon for real that day.
