Finally! Thanks Sadie, simple answer to a question, wasn't it? lol
Funny the experts couldn't answer it.
BTW it will also help bring them on point.

In fact the total correct answer is, you take a unit of blood from the dog then add it back in 30 days later, 3 or 4 days from the hunt.
There you go folks you just got to learn a little some more then screwing up a dog with swim tanks.

IM that sounds like it would cost some money because you would have to properly store the blood and you would need to know what you are doing do the guys normally do this themselves? Or do they have the vets do it? Is this a common practice in dog sporting? I see there is another way if you inject erythropoietin to stimulate the bone marrow which boost red blood cells. I am not sure which method is more commonly used or if they prefer one over the other.

Funny, I was on the phone with somebody the other night talking about this, lol.
Was hoping one of the modern experts with a phd in swim keeps would just answer the bleeping question.

    Good job Sadie! :)

These are done to get the heart rate up so that a doctor can detect how well the blood is flowing through the hearts chambers making sure there are no blockages while you are running you are hooked up to an EKG machine to monitor how well the heart is pumping blood through all chambers. Also many arrhythmia's are often aggravated by exercise so this is another standard method to detecting abnormal heart rhythms. As the heart beat increases it puts more stress on the heart if there is anything abnormal going on these types of tests will often catch them. There are also different types of stress tests. But these tests have nothing to do with increasing endurance.

While you ladies and gents have been pissing an inch furthar each time you post you have ALL neglected to address the one thing that is the most obvious in concern to a swim keep. A large part of conditioning is recovery (yes it has been said but not addressed) when a dog is swimming their natural function of regulating temperature is shut off as they are already regulated by the temperature of the water which in most cases is cooler than the natural temperature of the dogs body. A dog can work for a great deal of time in this fashion but when the dog is out of the water they tend to heat up faster as they are CONDITIONED to. As was stated before swimming is a great pre-cursor to a keep as it loosens up the dog and stimulates blood flow etc...

"I asked 2 questions of knowing when you have over work a dog and how you bring a dog on point" LMFAO you got your answer & to be real could tell you each step to the transfusion & what you could use for anticoagulant. if you really knew about doping you wouldn't advocate the use.if your going to cheat you wouldn't blood dope nowadays you'd use synthetic it's not relevant anyone doing anything today will tell you the same. google LMFAO why not just use search option & read the " blood doping" thread from a few months ago on here LMFAO.

    Yes, I do.
More and more have tried it.
It doesn't really cost that much. Besides, I can do it myself.
The point is to do it naturally.
BTW it should be from the dog its self, not from another dog.
Yes, I have seen the drug used before.
Some believe it can cause cancer later in life. d/k

EKG machine can tell arrhythmia without a stress test.
The test is to check for any blockages, not just in the heart.
The heart is also checked afterwards with Echo Scope.
I have had it done many times.
    No the tests are not.
    You missed the post.
It was wrote the threadmill can also be used for building up cardio.
The best cardio work is done on a treadmill, not a swim tank!
This is why doctors do stress tests on threadmills NOT in a pool!

I can tell you never done it.
I can also tell you have little knowledge in conditioning dogs...
    Cheat?
Are you new to the dogs? Dogmen have been using steroids on dogs for years.
Bob used 4 different steroids on Chinaman. He called it "shot gun" steroids.
It won't effect the dog to blood dope the way I said.
I never advocated any drug usage!

For every 1 dog who used swimming in a Keep I can post a thousands who didn't.
Was it the dog or the Keep?
Some dogs people can do what ever they like and still not screw up a dog from winning. Also depends on the comp.
I could post where Carver is running Stompinotto on a Lemm mill or when he has a dog on a turn table.

BTW I also had the stress test where they inject the die like shit into the back of my hand and it leaves a taste like metal in your mouth.

    I can't agree with you.
A dog needs to learn how to recover when they get hot.
BTW a dog blood flows much easier when they are hot then cold!
Now if you want to take this farther, then you should know what makes a dog run hot from one who doesn't. ;->

Yes I have had one done as well the stress test without the Thallium which is the radioactive dye injected into patient through IV to take images of the heart at rest and during a stress test to see how the heart is pumping at rest and during exercise .. An EKG can detect an arrhythmia without a stress test if the person is having the irregular heart beat at the time of the EKG reading. But many times they are missed by a regular EKG because not all arrhythmias are constant they come and go which is why Holter monitors are worn for extended periods of time outside the doctors office to record any unusual electrical activity of the heart. The stress test will get the heart beat up putting stress on the heart to see how it functions during exercise this can be a good way to detect an arrhythmia that is triggered by exercise which some are. I have had a full Cardio work up myself so I know how these tests work and am familiar with them.

"I can tell you never done it" i live in a house & didn't build it. it ain't like a vet or phlumbotmist couldn't do it. hell i doubt anyone did it after the 80's. "Dogmen have been using steroids on dogs for years" BFD i know of natural dogs that made rank & beat doped up dogs. i also know of ranked dogs that couldn't produce shit after being on junk. "cheat" sure it's cheating the truth if a few bucks is the detriment of the match over knowing the truth in your understanding & proving it as fact. i have absolutely no respect for that. there's more honor in a loser that's all natural then a doped up winner at least it's the truth. thanks for confirming we have them for the right reasons. im going to have a pepsi now.
