How Lame was that Super Bowl.

Discussion in 'Sports & Activities' started by Lakewood Dogger, Feb 3, 2014.

  1. I bet Seattle on the money line. I also loved the parlay with the under(37.5), fat chance when your giving up 21 points off turnovers and a kick return td.

I went to eat during the half time show. So, to have interest in that abomination was very hard.

All in all, a horrible Super Bowl. I guess we will see Peyton trying to win it all next year as well. If not 2 more tries.

Sure was ..the play offs were much better.. thought Manning was going to retire ...after a game like that..who knows.

  4. He said before last night that he was not going to retire win lose or draw. He reaffirmed this after the loss. But, the cast of characters is going to be a lot different. Don't see him having Decker or some of the other weapons next year. I also think that Monte Ball is going to be a tremendous bust. He looks real week in the legs to me. The other back up that they have Hillman I believe is horrible as well.

It was a bad Super Bowl but sometimes a good defense like Seattle has can make a good offense look bad ! IMO that's what I saw.

  6. I don't have a problem with your take. The thing that was telling for me was the game plan that Denver undertook. I realize that he had to throw short quick passes out of the 3 step drop. If he didn't he would have been crushed. The problem is that isn't Peyton today. He is much more accurate when he can put some air under his throws. That was a recipe for disaster in my opinion.

I took Seattle on the money line, defense was all the way live! It wasn't Denver's gameplan, Seattle just lined up and kicked their ass on every play. All I can say is if Peyton goes to the SB next year he better put a contract out on all 11 starters on Seattle D bc they had his ass shook like a pompom

The superbowl winner next year will be the winner of the SF / Seattle game just like this year. Two best defenses and teams in the league. The AFC has no defenses what so ever.

With Seattle I saw a defense with a ton of speed and ability.

  15. You can't say that. Who knows what next year will bring. There is a ton of drafts and free agent signings to do. Many of these teams may look very differently next year. Where will Seattle be if Wilson goes down?

I am a diehard 49ers fan, and I must agree with brick. The league has transitioned. The reason we traded Alex Smith was because of his lack of mobility. Even if Wilson goes down, WITH A VIABLE backup Sea can still be successful because their team is not centered around him. Their defense is the key, and that is with one of their starters out do to ped suspension. The statue quarterbacks can still be successful, BUT NOT AGAINST A DEFENSE LIKE SEA! Look at how they have made some of the best qbs in the business look average at best ie manning, brees, and rodgers. Let me also add that John Fox didnt do his team or his quarterback any favors with his offensive/defensive schemes. There were rumblings in Car where he got fired that he really wasnt that good of a coach, just was fortunate enough to have talented teams.

  17. They didn't get rid of Alex Smith because he wasn't mobile, they got rid of him because he couldn't make the deep throws that Harbaugh's system required.

  19. They don't even have a qb. Bradford and Clemens both suck. They paid Bradford a ton of cash and he cannot stay on the field. Like Zac Stacy and the defense is banging. I can see them making the playoffs in a few years.

Lake I have to respectfully disagree. Kap's arm is much stronger, but if you watch him he is not NEARLY as accurate as he should be! Coach knows the league and OUR division and knew (much like Denver) we had no chance with a statue back there....especially in Sea going against that twelth man. We reached nfc champ with alex, and lost in sb with Kap. Only way we could have beaten Sea is with Kap as our qb. Sea struggles with mobile qbs, but guys doing 5 step drop backs against them is puddy in their hands. If you watched Sea play all year they won a lot of games with Wilson struggling, heck we won a lot of games with Kap struggling. Too much money is being paid to qbs who are one dimensional. Good head coaches and coordinators come up with gameplans and schemes, but when watching that game the other night the only REAL chance denver had was 2-3 step drop backs, or Moreno and Ball. THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD HAVE DONE!
