My new bitch

Got a new bitch from an old friend. Not yet a year old so I can put a lot of work into her, excellent at jumping and climbing and full of fire.

Nice dog ...I don't think I would depend on the collar though !

 

Collar is changed now to a two inch bulldog collar. She one quarter apbt. I knew the pit, he always threw some bat eared pups, but was only ever put on Staffords. She does remind me of my Brindle bully a lot though, in body aswell. She'd need trimming down.

 

My Mrs has told me she's got to go back anyway. Spent all night bonding with her and after finally getting her to get on with my other dogs she's ended up in two fights this morning. After the fist one she said I've got 3 days. Then after watching a 200lb plus guy using all his weight to unattach to brawling dogs she's said I have no more days. I see her point at a petite 5"2 she's not going to be able to deal with that when I'm not there. I tried to explain fighting dogs will occasionaly fight especially when it's early days but I have to see her point of view. I can even remember how many dog fights I've broke up, it doesn't phase me and I got plenty of scars from my choice in dogs. To me what's normal just isn't to others. I had a crate on its way today too, after not having onevanymore. She's also hard to contain as she can clear stairgate. She's in the kitchen and dining room but it's got a glass window and she's jumping up. This is because she already doesn't like being away from me.

.... Oh well that's that one gone! At least she didn't break anything, but she managed to climb onto the kitchen side and steal all the dog treats.
...... Shame, was my kinda dog :-(

JBL I saw some post from you in the past that made me believe you had a clue .IwAs wrong ,its very clear you have no experience with a working dog.You were not prepared for this dog and please listen to your wife and take the dog back...OK now before you try this again study proper containment and responsibility.You just made one of the most retarted post I ever read on this site.Please do some research and study.And also keep listening to your wife because its quite clear she is a more responsable person than you.

 

I have had an entertaining day. And yes I did use my elbow into the dogs mouth with all my bodyweight while holding the collar.

 

I should have taken the dog on after I had the crate. The owner didn't mention she can climb onto kitchen workshops like a cat, will jump at doors and can't go without a human being next to her for more than 30 seconds.

 

Is all good JBL. Don't listen to all these folk trying to tell not to body slam your dogs or swing them around. Sometimes we need to express dominence to show who alpha male. Take care and good luck with the next one, it just wasn't meant to be feel me.

 

With time and a crate it could have worked out but my Mrs wasn't up for that after this mishap. My fault for agreeing to have her the night without a crate. Saying that she was getting on well with the other dogs until that happened. She went the night with them. I don't see an issue with the way I break up dog fights. I got scars all down my arms and had to go to hospital once cause the skin rolled back down my forearm, but to he'll with having a dog over rule me. You step in and take control a dog respects that too. I don't hit my dogs but I make sure they know I'm stronger. Even got the man biter I took on giving out hugs now. If you are seen as alpha the dogs do what they're told cause you lead the pack and a dog needs that.

 

Also I agree that is what I expected the dog to do. Dogs are going to fight if a packs not established, and sometimes even if one is.

 

Try a break stick..Their is a right way and a wrong way to break up a fight.You got this all wrong man.Its not a wolf pack ! The logic is to prevent accidents through proper containment .Yard accidents prove nothing because the outcome is.so unpredictable. That's why responsible owners take every measure to avoid them.Their is a time and place for proper schooling.Yard accidents are not considered proper schooling because they are unpredictable. Please educate yourself.
