Was browsing some reviews today for a new chainsaw, going with a Stihl MS 211 (maybe), only need it for basic clean up and maintenance here but i read they can be a finicky bitch, if anyone has any experience with that model let me know what you think of it.

in the mean time, i could always just buy one of these :>

I've got a Husqvarna for small stuff. A good strong little saw and well priced. Stay away from their POS ride on mowers tho.

I was looking at those as well and the Echo CS400. Like you i only need something for smaller stuff here, id say 8 to 10 inches max is what i would be cutting or smaller, mostly smaller though.

I'd say you would be alright with any of those.Always keep weight in mind no use in having a big saw for small jobs.

That's exactly why i been researching, i just don't need anything to big for my yard. I still think im stuck on a Stihl though, they just look easier to use. Pull it out, start it up and get to work. I was really liking the MS 211 but i read a lot of bad reviews about it not wanting to start right after running just a few minutes after stopping it. I cant be sure but i think it's user error as they have that easy start system.

I've never had a issue with my Stihls they start easy cold or hot.Now stihl weedeaters is different. My weedeater has a primer but don't even think about using it,will flood it.I just full choke and pull till it fires and then knock the choke off and she fires right up.I've never used the primer on it.

Well i tell ya, you're more then welcome to come to my house and "out man me" by cutting all this shit down with an axe haha! Nah, most of it is just shit that is easier down with a saw, just zip down the fence line and get it done. Sad part is 90% of it isn't even my yard, it's over growth, brush, vines and limbs hanging over in my yard. It's been a problem since i bought this house.

We have a LARGE family of amigos living next door at the moment and i barely even know they are there compared to the last neighbors that lived there and did meth and heroin 24/7. Only problem i have now is the language barrier but i caught several of them outside yesterday and asked if any of them spoke English.. The 1 did so i talked to him and showed him what needed done and i told him i spent almost $300 last year in sprays just to combat the bugs, let alone all the growth and he agreed, told me him and his cousins could get it done in an hour so i agreed to spray their yard for free this first time and that i would even help with anything they needed to get it done, i find it's easier to work with people than against them.

Son you don't want me to come out man you. Everyone in the neighborhood would be pregnant just from me pulling up! Lmfao

It's always nice when you can get the neighbors on the same page and help each ther out. It's damn near impossible with dogs while remaining safe. Sounds like you got pretty lucky

I actually do use a maul to split firewood.Think its a 8lb maul so little heavier than a axe lol.

You might just turn the fuck around when you see some of the fine specimens we have around here :))

But yeah i had to do something, it's so bad in some spots that it's 10 feet off the fence line of overgrowth on their side and i really don't want no drama or unneeded attention so i figured work with them and be nice to em, which is unusual, i really don't like people in general but this is a little different. It was either work with em or call the health department which could open a can of worms i really want no part of..

Just got back from RK and they had some Echo's but i just can't do it, i am going Stihl so i have to wait for the dealer here in my town to open up tomorrow. By the way, nothing against Echo or even Husq as i own both but when it comes to Chainsaws, i think Stihl is hands down the best option. Love my Echo leaf blower and Husq weed eater though.

If you want some good excersize splitting firewood is a nice little work out.It works so many different muscles and it's one if not best core excersizes you can do.I have a friend that works off shore and when he comes home he comes to my house and splits wood .First time he did it I was still in bed and heard somebody going at it with my maul.He said it's the best excersize I get lol

Went and picked up my saw this morning, they had the 211 but not the 211 C so i went with the 180, it will be perfect for what i need it for.
