I know a few years ago people laughed at the fact that the world was gaining ground on the U.S. is this still the case? Anyone think the world has evened up the playing field?

When is the last time you got one from the rest of the world? You bought a dog this year didn't you? Pretty sure my last hound I purchased was from overseas but this was some years ago. Got caught in customs and sent back and then a week later I got him from the airport and he looked like shit. If you will do more trolling you would know that. The man that I got him from has went missing and left a lot of ruffled feathers. But I still know that they are top notch when crossed and I would not hesitate to get another one from across the water if I had the urge.

Mexico has us by a step maybe, since we all still trade on the regular. Europe and Brazil?? I don’t know about that... there are A LOT of good dogs in the US that fly under the radar...

I believe there to be a lot of foreign animals that have been coming into the country more and more over the past few years. The cro dogs and the bady junior blood comes to mind first. Eulogy and Ali baba and a few others put the cro theory to rest for me. I have no verdict yet about the junior dogs. I would say no one country is ahead of us yet but they are gaining ground. Mexico is still a very close second.

    It is a non-winnable debate.

Sort of like saying the dogs from Georgia are better than Texas. (fill in the blanks with whatever state you choose)

It will always depend on the dog and the man you see some 16ft away.

Where he comes from matters very little.

I agree. The top is the top no matter where you go. I just believe that we have more at the top than any other country. But then again if I was in Europe or Mexico I would be singing the same tune.

But didn't you just drive like 14 hours to Tennessee to buy a dog? Why not save the trip and get one from one of those "better" countries?

Not all Holl are good there. If you know good guys in the states then you go there I have got a dog from Europe was definitely a superb athelete but a maneater not manbiter. I dont know if big kennels all over the world even the states have really nice for sale. They might havve not bad but not really nice. And this time i wanted to shake hands with a guy i can talk to and look at dogs and talk to guys who had to buy from the same litter. There was a guy from Texas. Old rich guy. I asked him why he had come from bulldog country. And they were other guys too.we went for Barbecue. I could go on forever but all on all I was very happy with my pup and really happy to meet the guys. I'll.tell you something though figment all over are a different breed themselves. Interesting rowdy and funny bunch. I went to pick up a pup at 2 00 in the afternoonand didnt get back to my hotel room till 11 at night. When I walk in the wife looked at me like what the happened to you. I said we were talking dogs and drinking Tennessee whisky. Was a day I will never foget

I wish we had big community like that. It's nice hanging out with people that share the same passion. We have the stamp club the chess club the pond club. Yeah I'm part of chess club. But you can only sit around think for so long. You gotta party too. Although you know what Americans love doing as a pass time. EATING. I was like don't tell me were going to eat again. I think Bama has a thread on here about Cooking up stuff. I don't mind drinking and smoking all day. But the smokies is a bit taboo. I guess you might not think too highly of me knowing that. I'm not sire what other guys on here in different countries think about the plant. Let me tell you I don't think the Queen(british) people like it.

Talk of the world, can't believe Japan hasn't got a mention. They have had the Bulldog for one of the longest periods outside of the States.
