White pitbulls

Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by two_faced_bastard, Sep 7, 2019.

  1. I wasn’t sure what section to post this in, so feel free to move the post if necessary.
So about white/predominantly white pitbulls, why are they less popular or less common? Especially because white is common in many other bulldog as well as terrier breeds.
Part of the reason I’m asking because my own dog is almost entirely white, as is his brother, and they seem to be quite a rarity.

because popular lines dont throw many pure white .. and is easily affected by darker dominant genes. theres no standard telling breeders to breed for atleast 50 percent white. maybe in UK in the 1800s or 1700s white was popular so the bred for it.

My favorite looking dogs are white or white with ticking. They were very common 100 years ago but not many around anymore. The odd one still pops out once in a while. The dog below was a very good one from recent times Pit Islands Merengue 4xW a redboy dog.

  8. Oh wow that’s a good looking dog indeed, funny he has a similar expression to my own dog but that might be because of the color and similar ear position.
I was wondering if maybe there’s a specific reason why maybe they are bred less in apbts or if its just that darker colors are dominant and nothing more than that. My dog’s father is black and tan so it’s interesting that the white came out dominant in him, while his sister is almost completely black

I have never been a fan of the white dogs. With the Mims dogs I get some splash white on occasion.

I remember laughing once when I guy came out of the car with a mostly white dog, sort of a small black saddle spot and the white was ticked up. He was an inbred Jeep dog. I thought he was the ugliest thing I had ever seen.

About 40 minutes later I had gained respect and lost the laughter.

    But so it goes.

I dont see ANY similarities except they're white(ish).....

I have an all white dog who came out of a litter of red/brown dogs. Theres not even a close 2nd in his(or any 1/2 siblings)litters as far as the amount of white...

i think disrespect ,, laughter or a lookist cannot affect a bulldog. i am sure his master thought was fine, thats good enough for thee bulldog.
