Hi. The thing is to get a subscription to peds-on line or go to the pedigree center here and start looking at and reading peds. While doing that read as much as you can about the history of the breed. There have been famous fighting dogs in the past and those dogs were bred a great deal and so will show up again and again in pedigrees. For example, Tudors Dibo is in the pedigree of a ton of dogs today. So find out who Earl Tudor was and who Dibo was. And then when that dog or that breeder shows up in a ped it will make sense to you.

The top of a ped will represent the sire of a dog, the bottom the dam. And so on. So the top of the dams ped will be HER sire and the bottom will be her dam.

When you've learned enough history that the names in the ped begin to make sense to you, then you'll be on your way.

      Good luck.
