  1. I would just like to say "Hi". I have been training dogs for years, but I just recently aquired my first pitbull. He is the greatest, but I'm sure everyone feels that way about their dog. He has already started his obedience training and he will eventually be trained as my personal protection dog. I have an older protection dog and my new pup will be his successor. They get along great and my older mixed breed is really teaching him the ropes.[IMG]

Welcome. You'll find many of us dont agree with APBT's in personal protection work, as it is working against their natural drives-as well as some see it as bad public relations. I hope you know what your doing, do it right, and understand the pitbull breeds. You will learn alot of good info here, just keep an open mind and you'll learn a ton. Dog looks cute, hope you enoy your stay.

  3. Thank you for the welcome. I understand that a lot of people don't agree with the personal protection part, but I have worked with a lot of other people's pits in training and they are wonderful. You would never know that they are trained for that unless you were a burglar. They are very friendly and personable. Their obedience is top-notch. We also have a personal protection trained pit that is also a certified therapy dog. I welcome all the information that I can get. I will make sure to keep an open mind. I am always looking for more information about the breed.
