Just out of curiosity......

Since we all here know what each other's favorite breed of dog is, I was wondering what else people like. What's your next or next couple favorite breeds? For me, I like Bull Mastiffs, Doberman Pinschers, Huskies (including wolf-hybrids) and believe it or not, Boston Terriers. Just figured it would be interesting to see what other folks have to say......

Before i chose the APBT as my favorite i did quite a extensive research on rare and unique breeds. A couple that got my serious attention are the Boerboel from Africa, Alano from Spain, Ca de Bou from Mallorca, Fila from Brazil, and the Tosa from Japan. Mmmm if i could own just one.

 

performance bred American Bulldog. I loved mine. Have a friend who has a Fila. They are definitely not for everyone. Pure defense.

I love these dogs, I have one...he is so smart, and the best lil hunter I have ever seen!! But I also love Boston Terriers....they are great..they are like a mini Pit bull...lol but i really love the Rhodesian Ridgeback They are so pretty, I like the leg they carry on them...beautiful

I really like the Siberian Husky. They are soo pretty. I had a Basenji growing up, they're pretty cool, I'd love to have another one.

Whoa there buddy, wait a sec....worthless couch potatoes?? My sister in law bred trained and showed Bull Mastiffs, and I gotta say they were not worthless couch potatoes!! She had some beautiful, big athletic hard working dogs. I used to run with her male Angus, and this 210 lb dog would run and play with me for hours on end....he used to tackle me, lol! But he was very sweet towards those he knew as well as strangers, but he did know when to be protective as well. And her brindle Bull Mastiffs were strikingly beautiful dogs. My girl Passion used to take her lumps as a pup playing with 'em all....

 

OMG these people have truly lost their minds....they must have nothing better to do!!....I think some of them need to go back to school!!

i like rat terriers, shitzu's, and eskimo spitz. but my APBT babies are my favorite of all dogs

 

well i have 2 dobermans as most of you know and i really am pleased with this breed of dog.but just recentley i purchased a mountain cur for hunting havent hunted with him yet but when i feel up to it i think he will be just fine for the job and i know this because i bought him already trained and seen him hunt allready,right now he is living in the house with me though and he is great never made a mess,nice and clean,quiet but still a good watchdog.his head is always on a swivle,and if he thinks he hears something he goes and checks the entire house out,couldnt really ask for much more in my opinion.

 

My favorite breed is actually Rottweilers - the best dog I ever owned was a Rotti

 

I don't want to bash a breed of dog, but I've been around alot of Rotties and only liked a few. Maybe they were poorly bred and or trained, but most just seemed very thick headed. The sire of my girl Passion had a thing for Rotties apparently, as he killed a couple of them. Unfortunately his owner was an irresponsible a$$hole......I think he may have intentionally let him go at them a few times. That's exactly why I did everything in my power to get my girl off him, cuz he woulda just done the same shit with her......

 

Well I'm surethey were pretty and good dogs. I worked with four different ones and three of them were from supposed working stock. We could get them to bark and growl. However they were purley defensive had NO prey drive and wouldn't even bite a tug. I am a Mondio Ring decoy and have worked hundereds of dogs all over the US and Europe. I could esquive a 210 lbs dog until the cows came home. They were great dogs and pets. And very intimadating too most people. I guess I am just used to Malinois and working shepards. No comparison. I have also had people bring me many other so-called protection breeds. Most went home disappointed. We had a Presa, a Boerbol. Both failed miserably. I could hope a dog could run with you for hours, they have four legs. And they were actually bred to tackle and pen people. So her dog is doing what he was bred to do. I really liked these dogs they just had no working ability.
