A bunch of pics from this weekend.

Jaeger and Hennessy in their costumes. They were just toddler costumes that I bought, but they won two contests this weekend.

Henny & Jaeger were awesome with their costumes. They deserved the win.

I can't get over how versatile Jaeger is. Super dog ;)

Great pics - keep up the good work! I'd like to see more of the flyball - does he work ok with a team of dogs or just singularly?

Jaeger works great with the team. He normally hangs with his two favorite teammates Barney (a GSP) and Alex (a Border Collie), but he gets along with all of the dogs. Although he has been attacked by one of the Aussies and three of the Jack Russells on the team. He just sort of looked at them and walked away.
I also had to pull him out of his Wednesday night agility class, and switch him to Mondays. Because the same male Golden Retriever attacked him 5 weeks in a row. One time the damn GR took a chunk out of Jaeger's back. It was always when Jaeger was playing with his Wubba (his after a run reward toy), so Jaeger never even seemed to notice the jackass dog jumping on his back.
Jaeger gets "attacked" alot by other dogs. My theory is that they are intimidated by him, and the confidence that he projects. It is almost always a pansy breed of dog that attacks him.

The dogs that have went after him include:
    4 Golden Retrievers
    2 Labs
    3 Jack Russells
    2 mini Poodles
2 Std. Poodles (1 was a service dog)
    2 Border Collies
    1 Aussie
    6 Shelties
    1 Goldadoodle
    2 Boston Terriers
    1 Cockapoo
    2 Dobermanns
1 Rodesian Ridgeback (a service dog)
1 golden mix (while at his therapy dog certification)
    3 lab mixes
    2 Min Pins
4 Chihuahuas (including one that put a gash in his nose at the PetWalk during the costume contest)

Yes, I really do keep a list. Notice most of them are "oh they would never be aggressive" breeds. He has never had a problem with another APBT, a bulldog, an akita, a rottweiler, a shepherd, a dogo, or another "dangerous" breed. Go figure.

  12. I assume GSP is a German Short haired pointer. I have been learning a bit about flyball, and had believed that a flyball team will use three fast larger dogs ie border collies, and a smaller fast dog like a rat terrier to get smaller hurdles over the course. My question is what breed is the 4th dog on your team?

Our team is made up of more than four dogs. We actually have 12 - 15 dogs on the team. I would have to check the roster to be sure. There are 2 jack russells, a sheltie, a german shorthaired pointer, a golden retriever, a weimeriner, 3 aussies, 4 border collies, and Jaeger. There might be another one or two that I forgot. We try to have enough dogs to be able to race even when someone is injured, out of town, etc.

My husband's German Shepherd just started training for flyball, and I am getting ready to start training my Dogo Argentino puppy also.

BTW, the fastest most winningest (if that is a word) teams that I have seen consist of four larger dogs, and don't worry about using a hight dog. The hight dogs are good for lowering the hurdles, but they are no match for a bigger dog.
