But seriously, when I got my dogs their gene pool's prominent bloodline in the seventh generation pedigree was pure OFR and 12% Mims through Kimble's Duke Ellington (the product of an outcross).

Which OFRN dog is your program centered around, that might help. If youre looking for just the consistent Red nose trait, any branch'll do. But for my money, I'd check out a guy in Indiana or a guy in Arizona. Both of these kennels have put out more performance rednoses than all others combined. And I dare someone to say something bad about either one.

Whitch guy in arizona? I live out here do you have a kennel name or a ped and if you got it can you show what the guy in indiana. And iam not talking of any particular line just as long as its one of the ofrn line. I saw a kennel that saide that they had one of the purest working wilder dogs in the country like 96% or something pups were going for 2,500

From what I've read, OFRN has crossed well with success with Red Boy, Jeep, and Boyles blood.

There's more than one family of OFRN I think. If you were more particular about what you were looking for and so on, some folks might be able to help out a little more.

    Good luck in your search.

I hope those dog's have good health because thats way to much linebreeding in my opinion.

That's not linebreeding, that's inbreeding & extremely heavy inbreeding at that!

But that goes back to the point of it's not whether you inbreed or not, but what you inbreed ON. Good dogs should beget good dogs so long as you don't lose vigor.

I agree with that but imo still way to much. I would have waited a generation our too then breed to (insert dog here). I dont mind linebreeding/inbreeding but based on the first four generation it is nothing but inbreeding.

lol. Look back further in the ped. The dog is more inbred than that ...

i think the first three generations of that dog are brother to sister. but like ABK said, look back, and you'll really see how inbred that dog is.

and for an animal to be that inbred and still have that kind conformation and ability to function is amazing. says something about the breeder's standards, and like abk said again, being able to pick the right mutts to inbreed on.

Yes its' very tight! But that's what preserving the lines will do! Norrods very much know what he is doing.

THEY MIGHT GO INFERTILE A LIL EARLY, BUT THE ONES I HAVE SEEN OFF DANGER HAVE BEEN AMAZING, (TEMPERMENT,TRACTABILITY, ATHLETICISM. CONFORMATION, BITE) NORROD DID THESE DOGS RIGHT!

A lot of the older OFRN stuff was heavily inbred. Here is one thats within my dogs pedigree
    http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/public/printPedigree.php?dog_id=2051

Well damn I do believe I talked to the owner of that dog a few years ago and he offered to sell me a pup (seeing that I also liked OFRN) and it was for much cheaper then that.

You could go directly to Norrod and pay like $600 for a pup

YEA IF YOU DONT LIKE PURE BLOOD.
NORROD HAS ONLY SOLD HIS PURE HEMPHILL 2 TIMES (2 PUPS, AND A PROSPECT[DANGER])
IT NONE OF MY BUSINESS THOUGH, I THINK HE HAS AN ACCOUNT HERE....

For being inbred that much the wight of the animal stayed small considering that a lot of the modern ofrn stuff is 60 lbs +

  20. jman11

    jman11 King of the Valley

the ones that were bred true to form stayed the right size 40-55lbs, all the other stuff that has been peddled through the years is garbage and that sthe stuff that sits at 75 lbs and more LOL!

    Rule of Thumb
As far as the hemphill bloodline, if your pedigree doesnt switch to Norrods name after WEAVER'S APACHE RED TY and MULLINS' RED FLAME then there is a 99percent chance your holding onto some untested gargbage stock . As we all know, Wilder didnt do anything but peddle these dogs for $, with no regard to the lifetime of work that Bob Hemphill, W. Lightner and Con Feeley put forth to create dogs of this calibur.

and as previously said. look at the pics of danger and offspring. the conformation shows you how good the stock really is (to look so perfect after beeing sooooo heavily inbred) and if you start to think that hes producing winners w/o even outcrossing....... thats some real OFRN!
