any ideas on how to remove tree sap from dogs' hair?

i need to remove some sap that has gotten all over my show dog. any idea. i am to the point where i'll try anything...as long as it doesnt make their hair fall out...lol:p

 

I have heard p'nut butter or mineral oil work well,
There are also products called DeSolve-It and Goo Gone from WalMart that I have heard of groomers using. Supposedly they work great but you have to test to make sure your dog isn't going to be allergic.
*If you decided to use one these, I would run down the list of ingredients to your vet just to make sure they are safe.*
This is just info I found online, never used it myself. Also I would give a bath to the dog after using the product, so the dog isn't licking it-could be harmful. Maybe you should just use p'nut butter lol.

peanut butter works great on gum, don't know about sap but it's worth a yummy try!

i have tried alcohol, peanut butter..lol, soap, was thinking about diesel? any thing i should worry about if i use a rag
