Frisco Dogs

The only fault is not owning one ! lol

 

Frisco dogs are ok though

 

can someone please explaine to me why they call them frisco dogs and not chinaman dogs
cause everytime you get frisco once you get chinaman twice so imguessing it would still be linebred chinaman dogs

 

Depends on the pedigree, some breedings were made off Frisco and others half-sisters and those could be considered chinaman dogs, but when you some dogs of double frisco dogs top and bottom, i would call that a Frisco dog.

 

the only thing i dont liek about my frisco dog is he is shy, a good working dog but his shyness gets on my damn nerves!! i have heard alot about frisco dogs being know for there shyness, i believe the majority of his problem was being droped by a fork lift when being loaded into the plane

 

How is he shy? Around people, strangers? How is he around other dogs?

 

sometimes hes fine around strangers some times he is not. dose not really have any strong confidence unless he is working. i considr his nerves to be weak. he is not really interested in other dogs, i have not given him the oportunity to interact with other dogs besides the one i own, who he is fine with.

 

The shy thing is true, and i believe its because of lack of right socialization at first months and plane trauma. I've imported a pregnant bitch with a good frisco % and all the pups are very sweet and outgoing, all of them.

 

It depends on the level of shyness if had a few that were like game birds you had to say no words to them no collar or leash they wouldnt move from your side just sit there
but when it was time for work there was no stop to them I kinda liked it a good controlable dog

 

In my case its just around strangers and not at all times, this is with my dog Tete which came at 5 months old and there was a storm on the plane because i saw the report. The dog was not used to urban enviorment and i had to do my best for socialization around people and urban places. The pups i got were 100% explorer and outgoing since they were born and adapted pretty quick to outside people, noises and etc without problem.

I also know dogs from the same litter that were imported togheter to here and 1 turned shy and the other one perfectly well so i guess it also depends on how the dog takes it.

in my dogs case.. around me and my old lady he is as normal as can be. bring a stranger into the mix and he gets a little shy and timid. walks around with no "confidence" at all. but when its time to go to work you see the confidence comes out and he thinks he is top shit.

in my opinion he is a great working dog but a lousy pet. i chose the APBT for there working ability and PERSONALITY, a social dog that loves people.

when i first got him off the plane for almost a week or more i could not even stand up or he would run and hide, after some heavy heavy socializing he has become much better but is still not what i would choose temperment wise

 

How old did you say he was?

Had a bitch that was a granddaughter to frisco, real tight chinaman blood ontop. She came from a killer type dog. She was so shy she'd shit herself when she seen a human.
Her half sister was a stone cold mankiller. same top diffrent bottom. I hated that dog. tried really hard to get the bitch i had to come out of it but she never did.
