years ago maybe 84-85 had a family member tell me dogfighters trained pitbulls by puttin them in wooden crates, nailing nails into the crate, and then kickin the crate down a hill.

"trunking" is right up there as well. "it seam like it seam to be a good idea lets put some dogs in a trunk & fight" LMAO tio hardmen cracks me up each time i see that.

 

Dude you wouldn't believe how many times i've heard this, "She has a pit head kinda but she looks so streamlined like an italian greyhound, are you sure she's purebred?" :eek:. At first i told people "no, she's game-bred" but of course that doesnt mean shit to anyone else lol so i just gave up lol.

The motor oil part about pouring it on your dog if they have a skin problem is actually true. Old timers used to do it if their dog had the mange. It works. Ive seen it. Dont know about it with any other skin problems though.

 

Sorry, it doesn't work. Tried it myself about 10 years ago. It was the sulfur in used oil that cleared up the skin. But since modern oil contains no sulfur, all you're doing now by oiling up your dog is exposing it to carcinogins & making a mess. lol.

 

I had a few funny conversations about my boy...well one was when I was showing a friend a picture I had of him in his new Stillwater collar and a chick behind said she had 2 purebred APBT (this was in a collage classrooms) I said oh what kind, do you have a picture? My boy is from a rescue and I'm sure he is mixed with boxer or something...she produced her cell and says they are both RE both over 100lbs and I do a mental palm plant and then ask nicely if she crates them or what when she is gone..o no they run loose in my backyard...I say are you not scared of a fight and she said no and does not have a brake stick or anything...another time I was walking Goren and he had on a orange shirt not his normal backpack...well I am crossing an intersection and a lady stops at the stop sign from the direction I'm walking and asks if he is a "pit bull" and I am like yes a mix, she then says how her friend has one and blocks traffic to tell me how big the head is on her friends....I think I should not walk my boy now during hours that people drive on the roads around here.

 

UGH!!!! At work last nigh I commented on a customers sweatshirt, it had the old school Rude Dog on the back but done up real tasteful like!! He said Yeah I got a few and I asked what blood line and he replies they were a mix of two breeds Gottyline and american rednose!!! I tell him Rednose is just a color and not a breed. He says Oh No IT's A Seperate breed and was gonna cross an american brindle to his line next year too!!! :confused::confused::confused:

i recently found that i guy down the street was looking for one of those purple pits,but he would settle for a blue,,i had to step in and give him an iq test and find out what the hell made him think that there is a purple pit,and inform him that the only way he's going to get a purple pit is if he dyes a dog purple

yeah I had a person try and tell me that feeding my dogs raw meat would make them killers....oh that cant be a pit cause her muzzle is too long..or shes too tall....actually had a bully person ask me the other day what the importance of drive was....

 

"pit bulls have a biting power of 5 tons" (that must be the reason for those thousands and thousands of pitbull-type dogs breaking out of the shelters every day - they just chomp through the bars and fences )

 

Probably the stupidest thing I've heard in a while was a woman asked what I thought about crossing a english bulldog and APBT,to top it off she was wanting to breed her male EB to one of my dogs.Just about the dumbest cross ever IMO. I just said no and left.

 

Yesterday, I went to petsmart to pick up some cat litter. I had one of my show bred obedience APBTs with me so I took him in. I got stopped the normal amount of times but I heard some of the funniest things. One of the times I was stopped this women said she use to have pit bulls and that is all she has ever owned, they were all boudreaux and wise crosses and those were the biggest breed of pit bull out there. :rolleyes: The second time I was stopped these two girls stopped me and asked if they could pet my dog. I told them that they could and I didn't mind. As they petted him they talked about there neighbors "pit bull" that was 319613790 times bigger then mine etc etc.

Am I suppose to care how big your neighbors dog is compared to mine? Every time I go into the public I realize how ignorant people are. On the upside this lady who said she had been scared of pit bulls her whole life petted my dog and said he was the first nice pit bull she had ever met. So at least I helped give someone something good to remember about all pit bull type dogs.

I could go on and on from all that has been heard from "American bully" owners.

The most common statement is always "you can't afford one" or "you apbt people fight dogs and we don't fight our bullies that's why they are going to replace them".

yeah my dog has such a long pedigree of immature put downs and threats it's pretty outstanding. I never knew the gotti/razors edge/greyline/american bully f#@!&% crap would be a common problem when owning an apbt these days.

 

thats the thing evreyone breeds these big cur dogs and the genral public thinks that just because they are big , they are suspose to be bad. but i was tolod by this one dude that he had to put his pit downbecause his skull got to bg for his brain and was it was penetrating his brain so he went nuts

 

I see alot of that kind of talk online,it's easier to just not even talk to people like that.They won't learn.

 

Everyone and there mother knows the bloodline of my dog, except me. She is a rescue, but I recently discovered that because she is black and white, or "black nose" she is in fact a purebred Colby dog.

Who knew......
