    Good Friday to everyone!

I really enjoy reading all of the experiences that fellow owners have had, and are having currently, so thank you everyone for sharing.

I would like to hear any stories or experiences you're willing to share about your very first pit bull. I thought it would be interesting since so many of you have been into dogs for years, and there is something special about a person's first experience. So let's hear about your first pit bull.

Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

My father, before he passes owned many dogs. The two that stood out to me was A little white bulldog named Peety. He would sleep under my crib as a child (so my mother, grandmother tells me). The other one was a beautiful game dog name Skinny Man. When I got older I had a beautiful bitch named Fatts. I had her for 9 years until she passed of breast cancer. Man did I cry when she passed. It hurts to even think about it.

my first was a bitch hell on wheels , escape artist , great with people but would do anything to get another dog , i still laugh now when i think of some of her antics ,
couldnt open a window , she even got out of the car window in a town center while i was driving to grab a alsation and caused mayhem
she did settle down a bit in later years , but still struggled to get at a dog at 16 yrs shortly before she shuffled off

I've been around these animals for awhile now. My great grandfather was in it heavy and my grandfather was for awhile. My dad didn't get into it at all but it caught my attention. Funny thing is my girlfriend actually bought me my first pitbull. Its funny because she just looked in the classifieds and found one that was pretty. He was a buckskin rednose. His name was Cole. I was kinda upset because its like you know what you want and where you want it from then someone comes back with something out of left field. Cole wasnt worth the collar around his neck. It was hard to look at this worthless dog everyday but i had to because of course you cant give away a gift your girlfriend gives you its just not right ya know. I tell you the day we broke up he was gone too! My great grandfather then called me and said " My buddy has a little female dog that he will let you have but only if you dont do anything with her but feed and walk her. If i wanted to see anything else out of her to call him and he would arrange it. I was so excited. My first real bulldog. She was a little 37 lbs female by the name of Red Lady and man was she hot. She set the standards so high that once i got into it real hard i started culling hard because i wouldnt take anything less than her because i then knew good bulldogs existed and were possible for me to get my hands on. Man I miss her. We took her out one time hunting and some guys had there eye on her too hard. afterwards they were like man where did you get that dog she sure is good and all kind of questions. They must have found out where i stayed because not even a week later she was stolen. For the longest i just hoped whoever stole her didnt run her in the ground but you know they probably did.

My first one was a brindle male with the typical byb " Colby/redboy" blood. I thought he was a world beater. He was full of worms and had parvo. The vet thought he would die. He lived five more years. I miss that 15 min cur. We had fun preparing for the hunts!

My first was Chaos he was a pain in the ass he chewed on everything no matter how many toys he had he was seventy pounds he and my family dog who was five to ten pounds was best friends he always protected her if he could it was funny cause if another dog scared her she ran to him he Always slept at my side and would growl if someone came to close but I left town for work trusting a brother but he left him in the heat I don't know but it seems like they can't take heat at all so I am really careful now I have a black and brown brindle named Armani she is the best thing that happened to me

This was when I was allot younger.

My first APBT wasn't really my dog but I loved him as if he was my own. I had no idea what his line was nor did I care. I didn't care how big he was or how mean or strong he was. I don't even think I realized that he was really a pitbull, I just loved him. My parents only kept him because my sisters boy friend at the time gave him to her. He was most likely scatter bred mutt. He was DA and HA. (I'm not too sure about the HA part but I think he was a little HA considering her boyfriend was a drug deal ball of shit.) He was mostly on the chain in our backyard until my sisters boyfriend went back their and fought him. So my parents made my sister give him back to her scum bag boy friend and I never saw him again. But I remember going back there and playing with him and cleaning up his area all the time. He was a big beautiful tri colored boy.

it's rather long but here it goes...

my first "pit bull" was a mix...
he was trouble from day one... lol
he had been beaten up by his 2 previous owners, came to me at the age of 6-7 months old.
he had some fear issues with large men, would growl at them and then hide behing me... I worked on that and he became one of the most loving dogs.

he would start whining to go play with kids or when someone didn't pay attention to him, doing the butt shake thingy lol

with dogs it was different story lol
I tried literally EVERYTHING to keep him to focus on me during walks when we saw other dogs and nothing worked lol!
he would go crazy over a dog. wether he was big or small, male or female, adult or pup lol

he had 2 fights, one at 9 months old when he had just turned on, I was walking him and 3 off leash frenchies came biting him. he grabbed one of the dogs and shaked it like crazy lol... nothing bad happend though, only that it almost costed me a nail to seperate them...
the boyfriend had taken out my breakstick from my purse so I had to use my thumbs... one of the nails turned out entirely blue/purple lmao!

second time was he was chained with those metal cords covered with plastic (not sure how those things are called?) the boyfriend was working on his bike that day and some guy with his sharpei was walking in the street, mine went nuts even before he saw the dog, bit trough his cord in a matter of seconds, ran to the fence, jumped it and went full speed on the dog...
nothing to bad neither, only that the onwer kept pushing me off of my dog and pulling at my dogs legs, hitting him etc while I stood there with my stick ready to seperate them... anyways, I paid some minor vetbills and went to buy a chain lol :)

at one time, when he was around 10-11 months old he jumped off the roof... it was rather hot, and I had the window open in my room with the dog's crate who was right infront of it, thinking he wouldn't be able to get out... I went downstairs to get his kibble, go back upstairs only to find my room empty...
I looked trough the window, and sure enough, the fucker was standing on the kitchen roof... I was calling him like crazy, shaking his foodbowl and stuff and what did he do? the bastard just jumped off the roof and fell with his chin right on the ground!
luckely, he had nothing but he sure must have had a sore chin for a few days :p

Tyranny and Precious, littermate sisters. Man i loved those girls with all my soul. Had them from 6th grade until my Junior year in college. Someone poisoned every dog I owned with rat poison a few years back. One on them survived but she got poisoned again. Needless to say when i couldnt find out who did it i moved. I wont start with memories because this post would turn into a book but still to this day and probably always my favorite dogs EVER!!!
