jst switched over from inova evo to uncle albers.

    NGREDIENTS
Uncle Alber'sis formulated from a selection of the following ingredients. Cooked meat or meat by-products derived from beef, lamb, poultry or pork. Cooked fish or fish by-products. Fat, cooked cereals and wheaten bran. Products derived from canola and soyabeans. Lysine, methionine, antioxidant, bentonite, vitamins and minerals.
    Vitamins: A, D3, E, K, B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B6 (pyridoxine), B12, niacin, pantothenate, folic acid and biotin.
Minerals: Calcium, phosphorus, sodium, chloride, cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, selenium and zinc.

what you all think of the ingredient list??

it was 22kg for $25 compared to the 18kg for $140 for the evo.

Probably can only get this here in Australia but would anyone here feed it going off the ingredients? jst curious.

ingredient list looks crappy to me. meats of unspecified origin, by-products, grains, soy, all things you want to avoid and seems to be pretty much all this dog food has. no wonder it's so much cheaper than evo.

  3. Looks like rubbish to me,I live in Australia too and if I didn't feed raw I'd feed EVO over Albers.

just because the labels may have a similar percentage on the list ie, protein ect it doesnt mean the food is any better, they can just word it so it sounds similar.

the dog will need more food to get the same nutritional benefits, and the dogs stools will be very different.

i live in oz and ive never heard of it before, and i used to own a pet food shop[ive been out for a few years but the principals are the same.]

cheap dog food is just that cheap.

ive fed hills sd, eukanuba, supercoat, purina, and royal canin. by far the best results have been with royal canin, but every dog is different.
one thing i noticed and im not saying its def the cause but seemed to be a common connection made, was a lot of older dogs who would develop a gluten or wheat intolerance with age would have allways been fed cheap shit food, now obviously there can be other facters but it was something that we made the connection with. never had a dog with those problems ever come in with a decent brand for diet.

if you feed cheap shit you will end up with a dog who is more liable to get health problems than one without, im not saying cheap food MAKES it happen but because the nutritional levels are not up to scratch it will help bring these kinds of problems out.

And if you shop around, in smaller type stores you may be able to join the breeder clubs that each super premium brand has, it is supposed to be for breeders only but the companys dont realy care if it means you will keep using the brands. you fill out some paperwork and then you will get a card sent out in the mail, it should give you upto 15% off marked price all the time.
we would allow our customers to join if they were regulars and from what i know alot of stores do it. just look at the full labels on the bigger breeders bags and there should be info on how to join.

we used to sell as an example: hills science diet working dog 18kg bags rrp $107.75 and would let them go for $90 not a big profit when we would pay about $73 for a bag.

i did do alot of research on this dog food and most people have great results on it and have fed it for ages, i know every dog is different so i have tried a few different kibbles and only thing i noticed was she wouldn't eat the advance kibble. the inova she liked, and the bonnie working dog, now the uncle albers, i havent seen a difference yet.

i also feed alot of raw bones and fresh meat ect,

i cant justify buying kibble for $110 when i can get it for $30, main factor being i have to take her in for a $600 surgery on her knee cap soon.

if you think it works then stick to it, i am pretty baised towards the super premium food because its what has allways got the best results for me. i used to see alot of working dogs come in and race dogs, coursing dogs and i can tell you i could tell who was spending the money and who wasnt! but ive also had a couple of people who come in and laugh at those claims, people who have feed one of their dogs one brand and the other dog a cheaper brand for over a year and never could see anything different.

the other thing is they are not made for you to tell with your eyes but with some you do, they are made to give your dog a better nutritional diet and you wouldnt know unless you feed it for a dogs entire life.
on another note, i found that the Bonnie working dog was one of if not the best brand availible for its price range, we used to sell it for 33 bucks

These are what I feed, Great barko,(albers alternative from the same laucke mills company) and Enduro full boar, as well as and mixed with raw meat bones and and all that crap. Nothing wrong with it.

Take that extra hundred bucks a month you are saving and put it to good use.
