Even if you can show the dog that you wear the pants, is he ever going to be considered reliable? A dog that's already bitten someone wouldn't be on my yard. Honestly it doesn't sound like you really know what you're doing, because if you did you wouldn't be asking this question on an open internet forum. Its probably best to get rid of the dog if you're having THAT much trouble straightening him out. Its just a 7 month old pup. He can be replaced.

  4. I never said don't hit him by the way, I said beating him until he shits himself simply shows you are a moron who can't get your point across in any other way except stomping on something til it listens. Good way to ruin a pup, an adult dog might bounce back from that but that will fuck a pup up.

Not to mention the OP will probably get his ass mauled trying that, he doesn't sound experienced.

It is so funny how if someone calls you out for something the first thing you do is try to go get pictures and claim they "don't know what a real pit bull is". By the way, that dog above regardless of his breeding - was beaten with a pipe until his skull cracked. He had brain damage from it and I have all the medical documents to prove such. So maybe that would be why I'm telling the OP to try Nothing in Life is Free before he ruins a dog for the rest of its life....

I just want to know who the RETARD that gave rajenn a dog is.

It never sieces to amaze me the idiots that get these dogs. you cant handle a damn poodle bro. Go get a gold fish, I could care less how bad you raise that thing.

    MinuteMan1979@yahoo.com

E-mail me, send me the pup, and I'll give it to someone who doesn't have thier head so far up their a$$ that they'll tkae the time to figure ut how to TRAIN a dog before they get a bull breed.

That's like buying a fucking F1 car before you know how to work a stick shift...

Sad world we live in. Best of luck in life, and get rid of that dog and dont get another one untill you read a couple BASIC dog training books...

who cares what kind of dog she has? at least she has enough sense not to beat a seven month old puppy senseless, unlike half the morons on this thread

to the op, keep beating your dog if that's what you feel helps, but i don't want to read about it when that dog finally decides it's had enough of your shit (or is so fucked up in the head by your beatings) it seriously injures you or someone else in your household

I am certainly not an expert, but I have owned gamebreds for close to 30 yrs. This owner is in a dangerous situation with kids around this dog.
I have not ever beaten a dog, but I have had to slap the crap outta one.
It is my opinion and my opinion only that this breed ( i am only assuming this owner has an APBT) does better (most of the time) with nonviolence.
Don't get me wrong, I am sure there are justifiable exceptions.
NILIF should work unless the dog is just a manbiter period.
If the dog is mentally off then it isn't going to matter what he does, it won't work.
I think the dog is biting from having a dominance issue. The dog somehow believes it is ABOVE the owner in the pack. This is dangerous for all concerned.
PLEASE put the dog up when the kids are around. Either COMMIT yourself to helping the dog, put it down, or give it to someone that is very knowledable.

every dog is different...i had a dog i came real close to putting down at 6 months cuz i was sure he had a headfull of bad wiring.(before i had kids of course), so i tried the ol "whoop its ass hard" technique, and it worked like a charm. never challenged me again, and became a damn good dog. he just needed to be put in his place, and it was a lesson evidently never forgot, cuz he lived to be 12 and was loyal to me to the bitter end. (cancer)

are you really saying this dog in UNCOMFORTABLE while eating when some one approaches?
    lmao!

to me, if the dog is resource guarding and is uncomfortable while eating is usually when a dog is being teased while eating (taking food away from him all the time etc) or if he's been starved and really thinks he could loose his food at any time.

this dog doesn't, this dog just refuses to SHARE it's food with the person that is supposed to be the "pack leader".

I will work with normal corrections or even positive reinforcement (depends on what the dog responds the best to) if a dog growled or raised it's hackles, hell even if he snapped at me. however, a dog that full out attacks over food is a dead dog in my book!

and I wouldn't feel bad AT ALL for beating that pup till it passes out!
this pups is 7 MONTHS old and already doing that?!
imagine when this pup will hit maturity!

the only time I will absolutely be AGAINST beating a dog for correcting aggression is if he is fear aggressive, which from what I get, he isn't at all.

but really Jetlet, I have to agree, if you start to beat a dog up for giving warnings, the dog will learn not to give any warnings anymore before attacking.
however, if you beat him when he BITES, it's a whole other situation.

this shit is comedy gold! for once there is a thread with five pages and i havent even made my own dickhead response.
    so here it is.:)

i would try lees advice first, shoot it in the face.
if he still attacks you then use the shake and bake method, followed by removing him back off your arm and move on to Jelets advice of a friendly game of house hold soccer with him. sounds too me like your dog thinks hes pure gangsta.

[jelet please insert one of your funny videos here]

dude seriously, it sounds like with your mom and you youve trained the dog into this kind of behavier, and by reacting the way you have youve told him this is the way he reacts, even more so with your mum, simply because if you are at work late and its her time to feed him, he reacts, she shows him his reaction is fine by leaving him till you get home to fix the problem, by that stage your allready the second or third on the ladder. he needs to be shown that you are the boss and that is that.

i would dominate the living shit out of this dog and that little fucker wont get shit till he does right. these dogs can be the most determined bastards out there when it comes to problems, so your not gonna win it in one go.

understand this buddy, the puppy was fine when you got him so you say and he aint now which tells us all one thing for sure, YOU done this to the dog with your behavier.
if its taken a few months to progress this bad it wont happen in one nights feeding.

whatever it takes, scruff of the neck , hold him down, chuck him away and remove the food, what ever you see giving you quickest results.
something tells me he id a real stubborn prick which ive only really come accross in males[not to say females dont exist just my own experience] and they are a little bit crazy. with this sort of crazy bastard hitting and kicking hard is the last thing you want to do, youl make him worse and theres nothing worse than a crazy manbitter.

is he a house dog???? as real simple as it sounds, my house dog can see me and my buddys preparing and eating every single night, they tend to learn as in a pack that after you are done its their turn. even if they have the last feeds food in their bowl i still top it up so it still gets something rather than nothing. this keeps the ladder solid at all times.
never never never give the dog any food you have been eating, sounds kind of obvios but it will confuse the shit out of your dog and make it think its on its way up the ladder, one peice of your dinner steak and youve shit on all that work and its super annoying some dog watching you eat waiting for a scrap, pretty ovbious i know but ive helped a good friend with his first pit and he shit on all my work by doing this, hence making him and the dog the same level, his pup grew from a pup with a solid foundation of structuer and was looking good, three months later the dog was a stupid peice of shit cur that wouldnt waste any air let alone food in my house hold.
simply because my dickhead mate thought he knew better.

unless this animal has a mental issue [which i dont think it has] its your fault and therefore yours to fix. shame to put a dog to sleep because you couldnt handle him.
and look at it this way once you get him sorted and realise that a little problem can turn bad real quick you will never take the training of this dog for granted again.

one more thing, wtf are you doing taking his food away from him in the first place, sure you say your walking past and he does it but something ahs happened to make him this way???? let the poor bugger eat he sounds stressed out of his bloody brain.

  17. You may want to try feeding the pup by hand while you hold it in your arm off the ground. Feed it all it wants and then leave some more food in the bowl afterwards so it will sit there until the pup is hungry again, then repeat this.
The idea is to take food out of the equation by making it readily available at all times and therefore not a concern for the pup. Throw it food on the ground, from you hands, everywhere you can give it food constantly so that the pup does not feel it will ever end up without food.
At the same time you want to deal with the underlying problem with the pup that is your failure to dominate it and establish yourself as the alpha. Start with things that don't involve food and then work up to the food as the dog begins to understand his place.
Hitting the pup at this point I don't think will get you very far however. It may have worked the first couple of times he did that but you are way past that point now.
