Hi. I found this dog in the fields. She had a huge gash in her stomach and the vet said they found bb gun wounds. so obviously i kept her seeing the old owners dont deserve the animal. But im wondering what line she is? I've been told red devil or grapevine. She's all red with a white chest and yellow eyes so I figure she was bread for pattern and must have some sort of bloodline. She's also around 40lbs. Any ideas?
i live in central california so its unlikely she's from some kennel in georgia if you know what i mean.

You can't tell what line an APBT is by just looking at it. Your pics don't work, and judging from your post neither does your brain. It's Bred not bread. How would you figure she must have "some sort of bloodline"? Who knows or cares. Fix the animal and love her. Why is it important to know what she is? You thought enough of the animal to save her so keep it at that.

You can't really tell what bloodline a dog is from unless you have papers... If she's a stray, then you'll never know.

Even if you have papers nothing is guaranteed, lol.

I guess so, bro. I am getting tired of the powers that be editing my posts, lmao. I am trying to tone it down a bit. I thought that was as nice as it could possibly get :D

The pics do work. As i noted in the post i broke the img tags cause it was too large. Perhaps your reading comprehension is as poor as your temper. Yes, I'm aware dogs aren't loaves of bread, its obviously a typo from the context, or should i redo this post to check for comma's and poor grammar?

    Thanks everyone else

  13. Don't get snarky little boy, your pictures DO NOT work. By your own admission "you broke the image tags" - no one can see the pictures, that means they were not successfully posted on the message board. They might "work" on whatever host site you have them on, but that doesn't mean anyone here can see them in your post.

Pure BREAD is often something very uneducated people write and think is a correct term, so yes, F. was perfectly in line to point out your mistake - and maybe next time before you post you SHOULD take a minute to make sure you wrote the most basic things right, such as calling a dog breed a breed and not a grain product. It would help you out quite a bit, if you cannot even be bothered to proof read your own message you must not take anything you are posting on here seriously or care about it, so why should we? This isn't about commas, its some pretty simple stuff.

Finally, no one can tell you what bloodline your dog is unless they were present during the breeding, have a pedigree on record for your dog, or owned the dogs or were very close with the person who owned them.

No one could EVER tell you your dogs bloodline from pictures alone and based on your dogs red coloring. That would be like saying "my new dog is black so he must be a Chinaman dog" when black dogs exist in millions of other bloodlines.

Also, no one here - or any where else for that matter - can even confirm if your dog is a pure APBT. They can make inaccurate guesses based on looks and that is it - more than likely if you think you see a pit bull, your dog is some kind of "bully breed" but is it an APBT? Who knows??

Good luck with your pup, love her up and do right by her no matter what breed she is, sounds like she needed a buddy to take good care of her. Just tell your friends or anyone who asks that she is a dog, and since you found her you don't know what breed she is for sure.

  14. I just loaded your pictures up in another window (something most people WILL NOT do by the way so if you want anyone to see the pictures you need to fix them in your post, upload a smaller version or something) and I hate to be nosy but I have to point something out.

Do not EVER chain your dog up on a choke chain....seriously, you just got this dog, are you trying to finish the job for whoever shot her?

    I'm with fblb.

What makes anyone think this person should be the one to SAVE this dog. He doesn't know squat about ANY type of dog, or he'd know you cant tell what it is by looking at it, not even WHAT BREED.

Pure Bread = 100% whole wheat in my opinion, and this gyp is surely WONDER bread.
    Wonders how she's BRED.

Read a book or two, if you want to keep the dog, learn how to chain her correctly... Possibly some obedience classes, and research. But the "fanciers" of any breed are going to tear into you when you walk in the door asking stupid questions. It only shows your lack of dedication or TRUE interest. A truely interested individual seeks out knowledge from solid sources, books are a good start, internet searches can lead to some good and bad info... THEN asks EDUCATED questions to fill in the gaps.

Lazy people ask thier neighbor, or strangers on an internet forum, and end up with more wrong then right answers and no TRUE knowledge. IE, if you decide this gyp is "pure bred" and I ask you WHY? What's your answer, she looks pretty and some guy named chucho on the internet said she's "my" bloodline (no offense chucho, I just liked your name best!)...

Think about it. If you cant see why people jumped on you, you're the type of person who shouldn't own ANY serious dog. I got some tea cup poodles if your interested.

Not many people will pull over to save a dog knowing it needs medical attention, so I won't sit here and talk down to you. Good luck with the dog and educate yourself on this breed.
