Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum, and ask about staffy lines.

I bred APBT's years ago from Wise's Max who sired my best dog, Mack's Beau Brummel. Bred with Black Milly he threw a number of game dogs with great heads. Primarily Corvino, Red Devil and Dibo.

I love pittys but the litigeous times in our society has me looking for a staffy primarily because of thier great reputations with kids. Not to mention that I have 2 small grand kids who spend a lot of time at my place.

I'd like to get as educated as possible about the different strains and types, assuming that like Pittys there's some distinction.

Thanks for any and all help edu-mi-katin' me.

i figure your in the usa ! where most not all staffords are from show stock, temperement wise there is little between working and show varieties as far as being good around people and kids is concerned, its just that the working types tend to be a little higher in the leg and are more athleticly built, but saying that here in england not all show bred dogs are little fat froggy looking dogs. there is lots of infoon the sbt threads ,well worth reading ,its a good place to start . atb

My wife and I have raised APBT's all our lives and now own our first staffy bull Dodger, we too have grandkids and wanted a very stable dog around them. I see no difference in the stability around children with the staffy bull or the APBT. They both should be trained to act appropriate around children and both should be monitored around children and never left alone with them like all dogs. View attachment 19485
