Discussion in 'Dog Discussion' started by Flagler Dogs, Feb 14, 2012.

  1. Hey out there new here, but not to the dogs, anyways i got a good gyp that i had since birth 7 yrs old now never had a heat. Please help with this she is the last of dying bloodline. So she is very important to my family and i. Super little dog but before she gets too old i really need something off her. If she can throw just close as driven as herself all would be worth it. Thank you.

How's she bred? Just curious since you said she's the last of a dying bloodline.

How bout take her to the vet and have her checked? And why now after seven years would you be worried about it? Because she's getting older? That should have been addressed long ago man. Did it not ever come up @ vet visits?

I have a female that has regular short dry heats, The one time she had a normal heat was when i had her next to other females in heat in or around the same time. That helped her come in. Now that i have her seperated she back to short dry heats.

as mentioned kennel her next to a bitch in or due to come in heat ... another one is getting them fit and they will usually come in .... last of all is a one a mate told me years ago . rasberryleaf tablets . don't know wether it was just coincidence but it worked on a bitch i had .

some bitches will bleed so little and not swell . you have to have a hands on everyday to see if this is the case . i had 1 that you had to check her everyday all year to see when she comes in . and these types of dogs sometimes has spilt cycles . she came in for 10 and went out for 3 days . and then came back in . if i had'nt checked her blood every 2 days . she would of never got breed right . because on day 30 she was ready . blood test are real important on bitches like this . her mother never came in so around 8 years old i took her to a breeding vet and remember the vet needs to do alot of breeding . they have special ones .he put a scope in her and said she has alot of paulups in there and he needs to over her up and pop the paulups and clean them up good . the next year she came in and was the best mom i ever had . good luck

it's called a split heat cycle . and if you don't do a blood test every other day then you want know when to breed .
