There is interest in a MI AADR show but more help is needed, if you can help, look Ron up on facebook, there's a post about it on AADR's facebook page:

The post says he has a facebook page but I can't look him up, I don't have facebook lol. I was given a link to AADR's page because they posted some of my pics a while back but all I can do is look before it wants me to log in. I refuse to get facebook, I don't have time for it and if I get it, I would probably spend too much time on it lol.

    Want read a good one?
Take a wild guess who was called to judge the fun show in Bellville?
Last night Howard Burgess and Jim Nelson made a recommendation and used their influence to bring an ADBA & AADR retired judge out to judge the fun show.

    D.M. "IRON MIKE" NORROD! LOL
He told them he was already going and wanted to take a young male from the "Old Stock" to show.
He was going to help out his friends Judy and Ron because they were always there to help at his shows.
The deal hasn't been confirmed yet by the club President but this would interesting to watch. LOL

A lot of interesting people have committed in person to the club of them attending. From what was saw yesterday and the quality of some of the young OFRN dogs showed, there are really fine up and coming new stock for the breed. The shows results will be posted on the http://www.ofrnr.com website. Also a little later in the summer the OFRNR Flyer will also sent out. :) This Flyer has been out for a couple of years and is informative and up to information on the strain. This concept is growing by leaps and bounds! Remember free registration for dogs entered, automatically entered in a cash door prize and Iron Mike has promised to make copies from his own personal photo library of some pictures of old time OFRN dogs that never been seen before to be raffled off. :)

Don't forget to bring 2 pictures of your dog for the free registration for the dogs who are entered in the show events! :)
The Judge will be the owner of one of the modern day most famous dogs of the OFRN strain.

I sitting here and next thing I know I was talking to an old friend, Kenny Gaines.
I told him Dan wanted him to come to the show and he said he would try to make it.
We talked dogs for awhile and he informed me after so many years he was planning on doing another breeding. Surprised me because his health hasn't been the best. He said he would see how he feels and give me a call back to let me know for sure.

There was something else I was going to post about the show but I forgot. LOL
I will post it when I remember it. lmao.

This is my opinion as a judge, in the BOS and Best Opposite Sex class of all the first place dogs,
the finalist were as good as any I have seen.

Thou it was a smaller show then I had hope for,
I don't feel embarrassed by the turn out because the quality of dogs were as good as any you would have seen at any other show!

I am very proud of that part!
The pictures will soon be up on OFRNR website.

I couldn't have picked a worst day to have the show.
Fox Valley was having their show just 2 hours down the road.
Alabama Bulldog Association 10 hours down the road had their shows.
Week before Great Lakes had their fun show. People couldn't afford 2 shows in 1 week apart.
To top it all off, just up the road 25 miles in my home town of Battle Creek, Kellogg Cereal Company was having the Cereal Festival with the longest breakfast table where Kellogg gives away the food for free.
Big family day and way the economy is who is going to turn down free food for the family to go spend money at a dog show?
So we lost out on a lot of the local people from coming.
Plus on top of it, the weather was HOT!

BTW, I just set the deal to move the show date next year to the first weekend in May.
It will be back in our old building where we had our last Bearcat State Show.
Lots of shade, closer to the restrooms, covered arena.
So rain or shine won't make a difference.

all in all I had a good time. Its always nice when you can hang out with some friends, talk dogs and grill good food. I enjoyed hearing you speak of your experiences . You have a memory that surpasses anyone i know. I found it very comical with the bantering back and forth by you and your brother, Especially when you were critiquing his judging.

How did your show go? Fox Valley was awesome. I really enjoyed the show and actually got a 3rd for our first time. Gotta hit the streets a bunch more before fall our next trip. Some wonderful dogs at the show. Is that date set in Stone ??
You all going to have one this Fall too right?
Hope you all had as much of a good time as I did.

Re: OFRNR First National Dog Show & Treadmill Race. 6-9-12

Our show went great, NO Problems with any of the people!
Everyone one was very cool about it all.

I talked to a couple of my friends who was at Fox Valley, they always put on a great show. My problem is the members of ADBA work their ass off and don't get the bulk of the take from the show.
It takes a lot of money to sponsor a show.
I think all shows lose money right now. The trick to minimize the lost as much as possible.
What is sad is when members host a fun show to raise money to put on a show and still lose money. :(

I heard Fox Valley didn't have a weight pull neither. We didn't at OFRNR.
We had a small thread mill race.
Man was I out practice. lol
    I judge the small race.

When Jim and I hosted the ADBA & AADR Shows we lost $1,000 PER SHOW on weight pull.

As I wrote before wheezie the quality of the finalists was so close Dan couldn't believe it.
He felt bad because he wanted them all to win and had to spilt hairs to decided.
I couldn't help him because I knew how some were bred and I wanted to keep it fair.

BTW No we are not hosting another show later on in the year.
I have a international kennel I need to spend more time on and work with.
We only host 1 National show a year.
If some one else would like to host a show we would help out on doing so.
Later this week I will be signing the contract for the first weekend in May for our National Show next year so I hope there won't be any mix up in the future.

BTW a lot of people were surprised who did and didn't show up.
Carmen couldn't show up because a family issue that needed to be address RIGHT NOW! ...

I didn't think Kenny would really show up. His health has really gotten bad in the last year.
Louie of Red Reign Kennels couldn't make it because he can't drive and Bushwick Kennels couldn't neither because of a health issue and I hope he is doing better.
    It was very serious.

Jim Nelson did show up and help me out like the true friend that he is!
My partner in crime, lol Howard and his better half Beth Burgess showed up and really helped out.
These people I will always owe a favor too.
Like the true dogman as his father was Dan Nemire JR., who's father owned Ch. Iron Bobcat when he was a younger dog, showed up and help out like he does for everyone and goes unrewarded.

But the one who surprised everyone who showed up was my old road dog and friend in these dogs,
who was one of the key players in help creating the only All Around Champion female......Ch. Dutchess,
Robert Bates and family of Indian Prairie Kennels.
