I've gotten told she's in bad shape, that she's "fat". Just want to get some other opinions, I know she needs some toning up, she's been stuck in the house for about a month due to an accedent she had when digging, (she cut off 1/3rd of her pad on her front paw). It is healing up nicely though :) :puppykisses:

  2. The dog is fine for pet shape. Maybe a tad on the heavy side. IDK why all these idiots think every dog in the world needs to look like it's been through a keep lol

  3. I do wanna build a springpole for her, and maybe start her on a treadmil, but I'm not sure which one to start with first.

I know how you feel, I went with the springpole 1st for Goren, I think she looks fine though. I just want Goren to have some more tone though, he is so lazy haha

Well buy a good leash, collar and walking shoes, and get your ass up and go for a walk...honestly I wouldn't worry about anything until the pad is completely healed though.

Like Boogie said she's fine for pet shape just hanging out in the yard. You can get her thinner and in better shape with more work, just depends how much work you want to put into it.But you get her in tip top shape ,then the next bunch of people will say you're starving her.lol Just please yourself and not worry about other people's opinions. As long as she's a healthy weight, work her more or less, depending on what you want to get the desired results.

A six foot lead and a good pair of running/walking shoes. Feed exactly the way you are feeding now. Walk thirty minutes away from home. In a couple of weeks start adjusting the food up or down as needed. Increase the length of the walks gradually. Continue to adjust the feed amounts. 6-8 weeks later you will have a trim and fit dog. Of course, start when the paw is ready. US1
