    Police shot dog for no reason, claim officer said killing was “awesome”

    ARDMORE, Okla. – An Oklahoma family says they are devastated after they claim an officer shot and killed their dog last week for no reason.

    According to a witness, the family says the officer then took delight in the killing.

    Officers with the Ardmore Police Department say they received several complaints about the pit bull acting aggressively and shot the dog near a park to protect the public.

    Sarah Brown says a neighbor witnessed the shooting after her dog, Cali, had jumped over the backyard fence.

    Brown says the neighbor saw an officer use a shotgun to kill Cali.

    She added that the officer allegedly bragged about how “awesome” it looked when her collar flew off.

    Brown says nearly 15,000 signatures have been collected on a Change petition from people who are outraged by the shooting.

    Many are demanding the officer lose his job.

    Cpt. Eric Hamblin says that officer has received death threats, but a review of the incident showed he acted according to protocol.

    According to the police report, “It was determined that the dog had to be euthanized for the safety of the nearby park and neighborhood as the dog’s owner could not be located, nor could it be captured.”

    Brown disputes that claim, saying her neighbors have never complained to her about her dog being aggressive.

    well theres always a good paperless dog or two or three ;) (get GSDs or Rotts )that loves a chance to eat someone alive... then let em shoot at that. :)

    THats about where I'd be with it ^^^ .. I had my alaskan sled dogs shot back when cause someone stole em, I reported it; then they reported stray shepherds in their yard killing rabbits and chickens.. THEY STOLE EM TOOK EM HOME AND THEN THEY KILLED THE CHICKENS AND RABBITS. By the time I figured it out they had the cop that shot em there and I said exactly what was on my mind. Told that fkr that no one who cant shoot a non human aggresive dog with one shot doesnt need to be fkn cop and Im ashamed a cunt like him has a fkn badge. PRotecting the criminal that stole my dog cause ya'll fkd up and confused the report. The crook is right fkn there, dipshit! YOu shot my fkn dogs! You shot the female whos due any day in the fkn belly and 3 more times after that! ARE YOU A FKN IDIOT! <<<<<<< at that time my friend pulled me away and told me to chill while he loaded my dead dogs. .. . I MADE A BIG SIGN stuck it in the front yard with my dogs while I dug the fkn hole out back that said My DOGS LAY DEAD AFTER REPORTED STOLEN .. COMPLIMENTS OF DPD. My grampa stuck a gun in one of ems mouth back in his day and he raised me, I can adhere to all your hard hearted feelings. He raised me to think first however to to think like a ruler .. all that might make ya feel better to an extent.. at the end of the day; Choosing a lesser evil is still choosing evil......... so remember everything we do comes back. He'll get his its the way of the world, called; Karma.

    My heart goes out to them and their family..... even fellow Okies. Makes more gut wrenchin. GET a good attorney and get his ass!

    Yup that moose was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. On some George Zimmerman type shit. This is another reason these dogs needs chains. Not because they are all crazy uncontrollable dogs, but athletic, intelligent, crafty, break the fuck out of Alcatraz type beings.

    I don't think this is right but where's the video? The moose thread had a video to base our opinions on. Kind of like apples to oranges IMO.
