I use the term Hemphill/Wilder when referring to the OFRN dogs Jake bred from the Hemphill dogs. That way nobody nobody new hops in thinking I'm talking about the Norrod Hemphill dogs or anything else.

I just wanted to make sure I was understanding your post correctly. I know the Geronimo II dogs are reputed to be ill tempered. None of the OFRN Wilder dogs I have personally interacted with showed any human aggression, but thats just a handful of dogs.

My question was about the letter you posted on a littermate to Flametree's dog. Which dog was this?

Bill Trumpler who shows up on the top side of that pedigree on his OFRN board said…"You would be lucky out of 100 Hemphill/Wilder dogs to get 3 that would be good enough to make it to the box."

Flametree who shows up on the top side of that pedigree less than two weeks ago said…"My dogs aren't competitive. They lack mouth, ability and power so i was thinking of add some MachoBuck blood to get some competitive fire. My dogs take three to four years to turn on."

Morgan said this in an email…"I didn't enhance my dogs like I should have because of kennels blindness."

Let's say the average litter is 6 pups so now let's do the math.

R.H. the cop in the NY area received the 8 week old pup from Flametree. That 8 week old pup was so nasty it had to be put down, that's almost unheard of for a 8 week old puppy. Call Jace because he removed the pup's pedigree form peds online.

My dog off of Zapata only took a year to turn on. But I will say I agree these dogs don't have the mouth or durability to be FASTLANE competitive. Gameness alone doesn't win. Nobody is going to bring a B+ dog when the money is on the table, they want an grade-A killer! And there's really no point in taking a dog out knowing he'll lose. You pick up, he makes a game courtesy scratch, you still lose your money, and you might even lose the dog if he was picked up too late. Doing that won't show you anything you can't find out in the privacy of your own yard.

I'll feed a game dog who lacks mouth. Hell, I'll feed a game plug. And I've said before these Hemphill/Wilder dogs need to be crossed to perform their best. If it turns out my dog only produces curs they will be culled appropriately, and a good dog who didn't produce shit will live the rest of his life here.

No you got it. Great Uncles, Great Aunts, etc. By the time you are 4+ generations family bred down, there will be a way to breed and lessen the line still.
There will be a way to still take out. Trick is to know which of the original stock side to go too.
Sometimes you might have to do something again.
i.e. Ruby to Iron Tony, Cassius Clay, Red Devil, Lil Maggie & Boots, Mitzie only appears once way back.
Then breed Braddock 1xw off Ch. Bobcat & Ruby to Maggie or Boots.
You have to really know you family of dogs and what each line brings to the table.
