...I'M SAYING a dog with titles won't nessacerally produce,,it might not produce anything thats why ya breed of dogs that do produce even if there(game) losers ....also think that there is a lot less game dogs per litter compared to say 30/40 year ago because people(not all) are to quick to breed to just anything with a title...

    example..ya might have a title champ that do's produce,,well that's a bonus...but his brother 1xl....half brother even..might produce better...????...so do your homework...first

Titles not necessarily produce but on the other hand producing ability is best to be proven by titled offspring as this is the prove that your way of breeding was the right one.

....it's all-ways best to breed to the proven producer,,regardless of title..if he/she is produceing quality......well everybody has different opinions ...we can't make a ch..produce if he/she...just don't...but if the sibling produces winners and good quality well it's plain to see what dog to go to....

You have to study the lines you want to work with.
I´d prefer to go with a line or dogs out of a program that consitently producing good quality dogs.
I don´t like blindspots in the ped and if you have a dog down from stock that is of proven quality and from a serious breeding program it is your turn to keep the proper selection going and keeping the qualities of these dogs and if possible improve it.
Breeding ain´t no rocket science, yet every breeding is a gamble as you never can tell how a litter will turn out before you put it to the test.

If breeding winners X winners should produce winners, then breeding CH. X CH. should produce CH. and GR. CH. X GR. CH. should produce ---
Personally if I were still breeding I would just breed very game dogs x very game dogs that had a modicum of talent and bite (that I or a trusted friend had seen go) and hope for the best !!! But : IT'S STILL JUST A CRAP SHOOT !!!

  14. Hi Elias, i apologize for the delayed response but i just recently saw your post. Here is the story: a pair of oldtimers went to pick up their hand picked prospects from a greenhorn. The "yardboy" made the breeding; made the breeding that produced the dam to this litter, made the breeding that produced the sire to this litter and made the breeding that produced the greatdam to this breeding. The oldtimers impatiently waited for about 8 years for this breeding.

As they walked up to the house, they could see the greenhorn sitting out front on a porch swing with a young female. One of the approaching Dogmen sheepishly asked: "Who do you got there?". To which the "yardboy" responds: "My pick.". .............

(It was surreal to watch both Dogmen come to the realization that their prospects were culled along with the rest of the litter, with the exception of greenhorn's pick, through no fault of the dogs (the "yardboy" had a history of being "heavy-handed"). Tantrums and tears ensued.)

As a result, the oldtimer refused to share his weed until he realized that he couldn't roll and needed the "yardboy" to roll for him; comical and sad. Talk about an awkward Puff Puff Pass........

I am pretty sure that the female is still alive and should be about 8 or so. Those oldtimers are still waiting for something off of this gyp.

Nothing in this narrative should be misconstrued as indication of a particular dogs worth. This story is told to allow for disconfirmation by said parties (Unfortunately, they may not be around much longer). I feel it is disgraceful to attempt to create a negative narrative or fail to confront Dogmen w/ out allowing said persons to defend themselves. Wouldn't you agree Elias? I also abhor peddlers.

I'm a member of several forums, and this is by far the most boring thread I have ever read. I'm the proverbial greenhorn looking for information and all i got was a bunch of E-Joculation and bullshit.
The shameful part is the dogmen who know what their talking about let the wanna-be dogmen( like myself) pull them into this crap. stop the pissing contest and release THEM HOUNDS. There are to many of you who's opinions I respect to name off the top of my head, you guys' should be the standard not the exception.
After all is said and done, aren't the dogs and bettering the breed what this is all about.
    yours truly : GREENHORN.
