    Re: "bluff?"

AH, THERE IS MY POINT ALMOST STATED EXACTLY BY YOU YOUR OWN SELF, YET PART OF THAT IS WRONG...IT IS NOT WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE, IT IS THE BLOOD RUNNING THROUGH THE VEINS THAT MAKES YOU WHAT YOU ARE...YOU DO HOWEVER BELONG TO A RACE, NOT BREED, THAT HAS STANDARDS THAT CLASSIFY ONE FROM ANOTHER...YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE MIXED TO EXHIBIT CERTAIN TRAITS DO YOU?

DO YOU KNOW ANY RE BREEDERS YOURSELF? RE IS NOT A BAD REPRESENTATION OF APBT'S. SOME DOGS ARE BAD REPRESENTATIONS OF THE RE LINE.

Luk 6:42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

    Re: "bluff?"

since when is breeding dogs a business??? Yep, raising dogs is work and takes money but one shouldnt be breeding dogs to make their living.. Its one thing to have a litter and sell a couple to cover some costs but to charge thousands of dollars for a pup out of unproven unshown dogs that are nothing more than pets is absurd. How is that helping the breed? Breeding should only be done to IMPROVE stock ..not make a living at.

And also, you have mentioned change. Change is good when it benefits and improves on..but how has breeding dogs for color, size, a particular look ever helped any breed?? You can take every dog from a Standard Poodle, Cocker spaniel to "APBT" and see how this has never helped a breed improve.. Up until people decided to change the breed to suit "whats popular" there has been nothing but PROBLEMS. The health has declined, more and more attacks blamed on the APBT not to mention BANS and BSL ..all because people thought it was cool to deviate from the true standard and make them popular and cater to the general public. Look at cockers, how many health problems and temperment issues they now have do to creating and breeding for smaller dogs, longer hair, "parti" colors.. Look at Poodles, once a solid hunting dog..true, they arent used much in the field anymore but look at the helath and temperment issues associated with them now that they are bred for "pets" and "show". Another breed that is destined for ruin is the Australian Shepard. I remember distinctly when the AKC finally decided to recognize the dog as a breed.. many Aussie owners were outraged and didnt want their dogs recognized by the AKC for fear of ruin. Same thing with Dobermans, GSDs, Rotties, Shetland Sheep dogs (working shelties have different temperments than those bred for pets or to make a quick dollar) So you can argue all day long on the subject.. but the fact is making a breed popular and changing it to suit money and the public ISNT a good thing. (this can also apply to horses... horses bred to work are sounder and have better temperments than horses just bred to be pretty..)

Can you honestly say that a person that claims to Japanese and exhibits the aforementioned traits can possibly be Japanese because of blood?
    You can't be serious.
If you are 7 foot and blonde with blue eyes, you do not have the blood of a Japanese person.
Come on now. Common sense has got to seep in somewhere.

Have to agree here as breeding for looks will always be bad for the dogs

    Re: "bluff?"

TOM- i did not say that...and if my post was poorly worded, i am clarifying NOW that my thoughts are not that the APBT is not a breed...my only point was when i saying that they didn't appear out of thin air...and at first they were not recognized as a breed for some time and still not by some organizations and indexes.

Your running in circles with this....

I do not draw parralell with human to animals on any level....there is no logical = euqasion.

As far as the ABDA reconizing this RE as a standard to the breed, my assumption is that of ......it is for biz sake only. This is the only shred of credibility that you can hold on to in this discusion.

    Poor Excuses poor examples

Alright, so you do understand that it is a breed. Now, do you see why it angers many of us when people blatantly breed against the breed standard?

    Re: "bluff?"

WHO'S PLACE IS IT TO SAY HOW A PERSON SHOULD MAKE A LIVING? THE QUALITY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER...A PIECE OF ARTWORK THAT A PRE-SCHOOLER CAN DO CAN SELL FOR MILLIONS AND NO BODY MAKES A FUSS...CELEBRITIES MAKE CRAZY AMOUNTS OF MONEY, NO PROBLEM THERE...MUSIC VIDEOS ARE GETTING SEXIER ALL THE TIME AND MUSIC IS GETTING MORE AND MORE CORRUPT BUT THE LIVING SEEMS TO BE GETTING BETTER AND BETTER FOR THESE PEOPLE.IT IS THE PEOPLE WHO BUY DOGS THEN TOSS THEM OUT ON THE STREET OR PUT THEM IN SHELTERS WHO ARE THE BAD GUYS. HOW CAN YOU TELL SOMEONE WHAT IS TOO MUCH FOR A PET? WHO IS BREEDING FOR COLOR? SOME PEOPLE, YES, BUT IS IT A MAIN GOAL FOR THOSE DOING IT RIGHT, NO...

I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO POST THAT THE THING THAT IS WRONG IS THOSE WITH BAD REPRESENTATION OF THE RE BLOODLINE, NOT THE LINE ITSELF.

TOM- IF TWO BLACK PEOPLE HAVE A RED HAIRED , GREEN EYED CHILD, WITH PALE SKIN, WHO ARE YOU TO SAY THAT THE CHILD IS A BAD REPRESENTATION OF A BLACK PERSON? I'M SURE NO ONE WOULD TAKE THAT LIGHTLY IF TOLD OTHERWISE.

I TAKE IT TO HEART WHEN IT COMES TO DOGS BECAUSE THEY ARE LIKE CHILDREN.

THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE INTO GAME DOGS...YOU NEED TO BACK YOURSELVES UP AND SPEAK YOUR CLAIM BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY FOOLS OUT THERE ON BOARDS THAT ARE GIVING PIT OWNERS LIKE YOU AND ME A BAD NAME.

    Re: "bluff?"

First off, this involves living, breathing animals. Not a pre-schooler's paintings.
Also, that redbone kid that you are mentioning is not bred for his red hair and green eyes. There is a BIG DIFFERENCE.

So Tom- Do You Have Anything Against Plain Old Ugly Apbt's Maybe Too Tall, Too Skinny, Ears Straight Up, Extra Long Muzzle, Tail Too Long Etc...do They Have To Be Perfect To Be An Apbt? Or Is It Just The Weight Thing?

This Is Just A Discussion..some Of You People Are Plain Rude...i Don't Knock Any Facts, Only Opinions Which Can Not Be Backed...

    Re: "bluff?"

The dog can be ugly as they come. It doesn't matter, as long as it was bred to perform. Looks should never be part of a breeding program.
That is the problem I have with RE dogs and the like that try to use the APBT name. They are not bred soley for performance.
