At 12 months the dog is a bit to young for a strict training regime in my opinion, you can do stuff with the dog to keep them in shape but keeping everything fun at this stage is very important such as fetching a ball or a little flirt pole and tug games, that way your dogs getting a workout but they don't know it.
I wait until 18 months and then we go full force

If you've waited til 18 months to start hard work, you waited about 8-10 months too long. The earlier you start working the better. Do all the stuff the above guy said, including long walks, maybe light chain/weight dragging/pull before the pup hits 10-12 months. At 10-1yr you can get more serious with workouts. By 18 months you should know what the dog likes and doesn’t like, and what works and doesn’t.

You said your pup is a yr old, START NOW! Your competition started training MONTHS ago. Some start training pups at 3-6 months old on light work. Google a hand walk workout or keep and try to stick as close to that as possible. Good luck

Each to there own, whatever works for you but I prefer to wait until 18 months generally for the real hard work but thats not a given for every dog as some mature faster than others.
Just watch the dog, they'll tell you what they can and can't do.

I've always been told no hard conditioning/ compulsion exercise until after their growth plates close around 18 mos.

I couldn't agree more...since when is there a all inclusive rule that covers these dogs. Everything the experts say can be contradicted by other examples all through history concerning this breed. Exercise, breeding, competing, etc, etc. If you don't treat your dog like a individual then you are definitely behind the competition. You should be able to watch your animal see how they respond, be smart enough to keep it safe. I have a six month that loves to work, and I let him but I say when it's to much. Besides those are the tools of the trade....maybe people shouldn't play catch with there 3 year old because the ball might hit them in the face

  8. oh misunderstanding... of course i train with the puppy since day one i got him in the beginging tow games very verylight because of the teeth and the work goes more harder when he gets older thats normal we do a lot but i mean if you have strict training plans too make them ready for a competition

otherwise we do a lot of chain training flirtpole springpole all that stuff daily 2-3 times a day

  9. ah and thanks for all your answers - :)nice !

After all his adult teeth are in tug games shouldn't be a problem.
