I had some made by a local company back in the day. I had to order 30 at a time to get a reasonable price. However last time I got a quote from them, when I ran low, it was cheaper to import them.

I never tossed out the old collars I just hung them on the wall. Most of the hardware is still in tact.

I bought some nylon strapping and cut the seat belts out of some junked cars at the shop.

My mom's sewing machine was not heavy duty enough and after breaking a few of her needles I went elsewhere. I tried a local upholstery place and they sewed my first collar for me.

By the time I bought the nylon strapping, (seat belt material was free) I had more in a time made collar than with used hardware than I would have in just buying a new collar from a distributor.

With an adequate sewing machine the making of the collar is not all that hard. I think in order to make it cost effective everything would have to be ordered in bulk.

My first and only attempt was not all that cost effective.
