  1. Ive always wonderd about them two..theres some over here so i belive ,and the pictures i seen of them they were blue?but im not sure if these were real ones?as i dont even no what one is lol.
according to Hancock they originate from a river region in South Georgia..he goes on to say they weigh about 90lbs in weight and stand around two foot at the shoulder...but makes no mention of there color or what work they are used for.

Those catch comps used to be all over, even saw one in AZ. People would travel to check them out, remember a guy that drove from Alaska to see that one.

Some of the people you mentioned in your post were there in competition too as well as myself. We had people from Florida to New York and Alabama competing and everybody had a great time. If you wanted to see what your dog was made of that was the place to see it

I think Shaun Barker was one of the first to import Am bulldogs into the UK back in the late 90s. Scott/Johnson crosses If I remember correctly. This was after the bottom fell out of his "Stormer line" Staffs market.

No I don’t know much on the Alapaha’s, I do know that some Hines, Scott, Williamson & Painter Lines were used in some of Lana’s dogs. Hines also got a few dogs from Lana to use in his dogs. The WEB dogs also have the same AB lines in them as the Alapaha’s as well as a few other breeds, I’d stay away from them personally

I know they are similar type of dog. What's your reason to stay away? I like the fact that they are dry mouth and don't slobber.

I heard they got those eye's and color from mixing with cattle and bay dogs way back in the day.

The amount of drool depends on lineage lol. There’s a lot of fairy tales attached to the Alapaha’s & WEB dogs also health & temperament issues. Regardless it’s up to you just do your research

Agree with you 100% I don't judge book's by there cover. I would like to be around a few to get a proper feel for them and a real personal opinion. Thanks for letting me know what you know.

  17. Thsts undeniabley were that hue comes from..
you know man theres many great first cross mutts in your country(Bulldog x cattledog)that are most certanly used for Hog work..and are legends at what they do..

Worth considering man..ive read some of em even pick up on the shooting side of things to..not sure how true that is but that sort of cross dose seem brainy.
a mutt might make a better dog rather then some named breed..
and with Hancock saying these Alphas are from a river region in SG ...he also says they are plantation dogs..so chances are thats what they really were in the first place..that is some sort of Bulldog crossed with some sort of Cattledog??.
breeders picked up on its odd color and thats it.boom.a useful mutt turned pet and looking like a god dam english show bulldog...

    im rambleing now.
    sorry lol.

My buddy runs a Scott type American bulldog x Catahoula leopard dog 50/50 cross he is a great working dog. He can do a bit of everything He just came back from a hiking trip with him and went to the top of a mountain through 4' of snow on a over night trip. The dog wore a pack and hauled a bunch of stuff in he holds his weight.

The ones i seen were rather small 70 lbs brindle and white but i see a vid of of bills ones working Hogs and they looked like huge 100+lbs ones and were white.
so i just dont no lol...

    Im lost on this topic.
