Thx. Yes, almost all dogs out of Golden king family have docked tail and cropped ears (this one have ears )

I've always been curious about that myself.

 

Its a trademark of this bloodline,something people can differ them from other bloodlines. When people see working dog with no ears and tail,first they think of golden king dogs.
Its not for weight or for tactic,just for the looks.
Also balance thing is just a myth. If anything,these dogs doesnt lack balance...

The apbt may not necessarily be bred for looks yet they are way better looking than any bully or mastiff type dog, to me.

if it was for weight, then those dogs wouldnt go into 0.5 to 2 pounds heavier opponents. so that answer is stupid... Offcourse,we talk about history and dogs from history.
Its only for looks/brand, to be unique. Ordinary people go for ordinary things. You should always aim to be unique, to be different in sea of normal/regular people.

Sorrel and Colby also cropped ears and even tail of some dogs. Tudor also cropped ears of some.
If people want to keep this breed,I think its important for them to know some basic stuff about their history.

maybe ro reconise some dogs they sold or passed around perhaps?it says in the Colby book he was fanatical on keeping notes on the dogs he sold.not just how good they were at there job,but right down to each marking or spot on the dog.even how much whit was on one leg to the other.
i wonder if cropping the odd one here and there,and cropping the ear in diffrent ways to...was like a sort of micro chip if ya like?

i never new Golden king done it to be unique.ive always wonderd and always came to the conclusion (quite wrongly i admit)there tails(and ears)had took a chewing.
