Anyone know the purpose of shaving a dogs fur off? Seen it online on several bulldogs. Usually the loin/flank/ribs sometimes the neck and tail.

I see it as well. Mostly the overseas guys seem to do it. Never understood it either.

Thanks for an answer. If you don't mind me asking, do you know this as a fact that this is why it's done or is it an assumption?

I believe it is all assumption. I’ve heard so many different things regarding the shaving of fur lol.

It is a fact that it is one reason for doing so. We do it for Racehorses too.

It’s done in hot humid climates for aid in keeping cool. Helps when fanning, easier to find a vein. Some in Mexico also do it as a form of signature. To show one is shaped by so and so.
Won’t be long and it’ll be the next flavor of the month if it isn’t already.

Never would've thought it could be as used as a signature.. interesting. Thank you for an answer.

That signature shave to indicate a conditioner/team is really interesting. That’s for that insight.

Some are doing it for signature, Some are doing it for weight los, Some are doing it for hot weather, Some are doing to see the real condition , hydration and for after care.

Whic one is logical. I would say all off them
