I sincerely hope you can be reunited with Diesel at a later time in life. Sounds like he is a real friend and companion. Joel

I made something of myself WITH my dog, not without him. I searched for jobs that would benefit myself and him, give me more time with him, and make me a better person. But I guess I see my dog as family, not as a dog, and I don't give away family members (though some I'd like to, anyone want my mom? lol!) for any reason.

That being said, I am glad that you are actively trying to find him a home as opposed to just dumping him in a shelter, or on the streets. I hope your search goes well and I would definately contact every pit rescue group in your area, and also any non-breed specific rescue groups. See if they can at least set up a foster home, or even better, if YOU could find him a foster home (if you can't find him a forever home) that way they will be more likely to be able to take him on as with most groups' foster homes are constantly full and there's a waiting list to get a dog into one.

A good way to get him into rescue is to take LOTS of pictures, and write up a thorough and fabulous bio.

As an Air Force brat...Thanks for serving our country. I am sorry you can't take him with you. I know they have horse rescues that will under special circumstances like yours that will foster your horse till you can take it home again...Hopefully someone here can tell you if there is anything like that in your area. Sounds like you are really attached and would like to have him back when you come home.

I'm fairly close to you, in Tampa. I suggest trying www.petfinder.com to find a local rescue in your area. Do not turn the dog over to a county shelter. She'll be euthanized.

If worst comes to worst, and you cannot find a home, I'll see what I can do over here. PM me if you need more help.

Good luck, & thank you serving our country!

Ya i would LOVE to take him back when i got out of the service, but realistically i dont think that would ever happen..whoever takes him will fall in love with him and i'll never get him back.
