I too have been hit hard over the head by Low Down, Low Life Puppy thieves back I. 2014. It hurts in more than 1 way . Crazy thoughts were going through my head because I knew it had to someone who is close to me. A year went by and I found out that it was actually a guy I gave a pup too. SMH, This sob Double Double back on me and took the whole litter. With so called friends like that , I dont need enemies. My wife, " she a good one" truly had to remind me that, I can go do something so serious that I could be sent to Prison talking about the life I used to have ! It's not every one that steals pups, dogs ect. There is always one out there lurking.

Some things are just not worth the revenge or the pay back, even as much as I would want to if I had dogs stolen.

I got rubbed once and lost a really good bitch in the process. I got played from minute one and my real punishment for losing a good bitch is that I had to come to the realization that there were a number of red flags and I was simply too stupid to see the writing on the wall that night. I lost money, but that comes and goes, but I lost a good bitch which is much harder to come by.

Off topic but a lot of times people pay $$$$$$ for a puppy/dog that turns out to be a piece of shit. They feel like they got robbed. And that taste never really goes away. Not as bad as being stolen from, but money lost.

TG has to eat that too.

Sure, but sometimes the POS is at the other end of the leash. I’ve no reason to plug for nor critique any large scale (“peddling”) kennel, but this disclaimer from one commercial US kennel I think is spot on with this comment below. Common sense imo, nonetheless probably escapes many who think they want a working breed and instant gratification.

"...These animals require a lot more attention than most breeds. They will do anything for you. They also absolutely need human affection. Human touch and praise is so engrained into them, that they suffer psychological damage if not given enough of it. This breed is wonderful with kids and people. However, they are a working breed. An hour walk or play every day is an absolute must. If not, they become destructive, destroying their doghouse, water bowl or anything they can get their mouth on. They must be given work..."

Another week or so should know for sure.
I don’t normally part with females in the few breedings I’ve done, but if she drops more an 2 I’ll let have one if you’re interested.

Spot on. I normally do not have a lot of faith in my fellow man.

It is hard enough to breed a good dog but even harder to find a person who will do right by said dog. That is why I always question high percentage claims. I have been around dogs basically my whole life. All different breeds with specific goals in mind.

Maybe I am pessimistic to a fault.

I got tossed off the California Jack board because I questioned his percentages. He was pissed. He took it as an insult to him, his program and his dogs. I tried to explain that my questioning of his high percentage claims had nothing to do with him nor his dogs.

My issues was his ability to find that many people over the years to do right by his dogs. Which in turn led me to say if these dogs are your livelihood, or any dogs for that matter, you can't be very selective in where they go as the livelihood will take precedent. (maybe a connection to the original post of peddler, not sure).

He claimed 9 out of 10 success rate when the dogs got to the show. "the got to the show part" was added when the sheer number of dogs were calculated. 9 out of 10 of anything is difficult, then couple that with finding 9 out of 10 people who do the right things at a high level.

Maybe being selective in sales separates 'breeders' from 'peddlers'. I may have talked myself into a new definition of peddler. LOL

I agree about the high percentages discussion. A lot of people say that about toms stock when in reality that is not fair to say. Most people who purchase his dogs purchase them as pets or just to peddle them.

hey man I’ve been lurking this forum for a long time now, but you compelled me to make an account and post for once lol!

have you tried organic cold-pressed neem oil or karanja oil for the demodex? In my industry this is the one and only “pesticide” needed to rid plants of every single ailment from molds/mildews to microscopic mites.

When consumed by pests, Neem/karanja oil has a temporary sterilizing effect (generally an insects entire life cycle) and usually leads to death of said pests, especially when combined with synergistic and beneficial essential oils such as tea tree, eucalyptus, rosemary and lavender.

Not just plants though, I’ve also used this to bathe my dogs in the past with no ill effects.

To bathe a dog in a neem/karanja solution (or foliar spray plants lol):

    Per 1gallon solution:

    - 1 gallon warm water
    - 1 teaspoon dr. Bronners Castile soap
    - 2 teaspoons cold pressed neem or Karanja oil
    - 6 drops of pure essential oils

The neem/karanja oil and essential oils should be emulsified (mixed) with the bronners. Add small amount of warm water if necessary to help emulsify. If it’s cloudy and appears as a uniform liquid then you’ve emulsified correctly, if the oil separates then try again. (Neem is tougher than karanja in this regard but both are simple). Finally, add emulsified oil solution to 1 gallon water.

adjust volume as needed to bathe dog top to bottom.

Now you need to outpace the life cycle of the Demodex which is as follows: The six-legged larvae hatch after 3-4 days, and the larvae develop into adults in about 7 days. It has a 14-day life cycle.

I’d suggest a bath everyday for 4-5 days in a row and then every 3 days for 2 weeks. At that point, from my 10 years of experience with neem oil, all should be clear. Then the occasional neem bath for prevention. Yes that’s some work I know.

Lastly, I’d clean any and all areas that may be harboring them ...bedding, dog house, etc.

And to be more on topic...

as for obtaining a dog, I’m a guy who doesn’t really know anyone in bulldog circles but I did just get my first true APBT pup a few weeks ago.

I searched high and low on the internet for different kennels here in the US and Mexico that had something that appealed to me. When I found one I was interested in, and there were a few, I would use the search function on these forums to see if any others had experiences with said breeder/kennel (Thank you GD forums and members for the help!) and call/email them to get a feel for them. So I suggest you Pick up the phone and call, a lot of these folks are happy to talk dogs but know bullshit when you smell it and steer clear.

I was even fortunate enough to have a member here offer one of their pups to me after I reached out but the timing wasn’t right for me. Still kicking myself a bit over that.

what made me buy the dog? Other than my obsession?! LOL in no particular order...The good experiences members here had, the experience of the breeder/kennel, the specific dogs used in the breeding and the relationship I formed with the breeder after many conversations.

hope this helps and good luck!

To tell you the truth? No! I’ve tries everything else but that. But that’s besides the point. This big time motherfucker sold me a mangy fuckin dog and didn’t replace the dog she I asked for a replacement. On top of that he has a horrible underbite. Fuck Tom garner and all of his fan boys. I’ve bought from other so called “peddlers” and they treated me way better and I’ve gotten way better animals out of them. Do what you want with you money.

For sure, if you give it a try lemme know how it goes. Suggest ahimsa brand neem oil or source from buildasoil. The key is neem grown in India because just like all living things the environment contributes greatly to phenotype expression and in this case, the potency of the neem oil itself.

I have no experience with TG, nor was I particularly interested in his work. His descriptions of litters on his site are a bit too sales-pitchy for me and seem to over-promise but I will say his yard looked clean in YT vids I’ve seen.

Thanks for sharing your experience man, it’s because of members like you I was able to make a more informed decision.
