A Complete History of Fighting Dogs by Mike Homan (Hardcover - Jan 2000)

Has anyone had pockets deep enough to purchase this book? Has anyone seen it or read it? Just curious.

I own it. I bought it about 5 yrs ago for about $33.00. I did not realize it was worth so much now! Mine is in perfect shape! It is an ok book. I would recommend other books such as the complete gamedog, the life and times of james crenshaw, richard f. stratton's books.

Got all of them.......was just curious what others thought of this. Saw it the other day online but couldn't get over the price. I'd say hang on to yours or you could sell it on Amazon.com for a healthy profit!

  4. It is informative but not as much as the complete gamedog. Although it sounds to me that your interest is in all fighting breeds. This book mentions some but not all fighting breeds. Namely the Bully Kutta which can defeat any of the fighting breeds. An apbt is the best fighter but Bully Kuttas are 60-150#'s bigger than an apbt. Also the bully kutta is a hard game dog and I mean hard they fight in the desert in extreme temperatures that would kill most dogs and sometimes for upwards of an hour. They have also defeated the only other large fighting breed the tosa on a few different occasions. If you would like to know more about some other fighting breeds or the bully kutta pm me and I can put you in contact with some people, pics, videos, and sources.

Mayday, Iron Bobcat, Colbys Pincher, Tudors Black Jack, Plumbers Alligator, Hootens Butcher Boy.

  6. The smallest Bully Kutta is 120#'s and very rare while the largest is 200#'s. Their most common fighting weighs are between 145-165

  7. i own that book, got it for less than $30... matter of fact one of the drawings i have in my album came from that book... its the drawing called "malakai" but anyways its a very informative book but like it was mentioned, there isn't much about gamedogs or bloodlines like that... oh yeah the original picture for the drawing named "capone" came from that book also... anyways the book really is more like an archive and also tells about dog/animal fights (i.e. lions, bears, monkeys) and the baiting of animals... it's interesting and gives a different view of the history of fights without taking into account bloodlines and all the aspects that are more prevalent here...

I have it, but i really dont think it is as good as The Complete Gamedog. It was very informative and there was some education in it for sure. I bought it about 5 years ago and I think i payed something like 28 bucks.
