The trouble is the SBT origins are a winning champion pitdog and Pilot and paddy are a standard to aim for. But the standard should include the match report as carried in the police gazette of the time. That would demostrate the caliber of dog that is a true/honest example of the breed. Failing that create a new breed "bull and terrier" which is a fusion of SBT/EBT similar to Physco. May be in ten years they could prove themselves in the fastlane. It need not be KC registered.

did the english bull blood have such an influence ? i dunno, personaly i think the stafford blood nicked very well, and the law of averages concerning offspring shows a decentish return to mating ,just my opinion of course, not that it counts for much

A working stafford from the past of a typical build of that era. Not much has changed.
Offspring ended up in the States.

No jonnim, Brock wasnt a poor dog and he did not have short legs, he was a well balanced dog. I am talking about mental and physical balance here (the main key), without those two a dog is worthless for me.

yes they all come in all shapes in sizes, but be careful that does not mean they are all worthy.

the problem Joe is that for many the junk people see and breed nowadays is what they believe to be staffords. and for those that dont know or choose not to remember is good to remind them how they looked like when they were created and not re-created, mixed and ruined like most of today

the pic i posted is to address this sentence in bold letters. i dont know how old you are but i assume in your time the dogs were already ruined by cradley. if you think all dogs in the past looked like brock, dillinger, etc.. i got news for you: you are wrong! the single picture was posted to proof this.
i have never said a leggy dog would be better than whatever lenght of leg you prefer, that would be a matter of seeing the dogs working, and an "unbalanced stafford" wouldnt be worth my time. i have witnessed it with my own eyes, no hearsay. you, like others could pretend those midgets are worth a penny. I, on the other hand, have seen the difference and they arent worth talking about. BBO forum would be a good place for people who believe these fairytales about these deformed dogs good for nothing but show, eat and shit. ACES isnt the greatest place for working dogs either, its just a get together where staffords are at least worked, unlike other pretending forums or clubs that dont do what they preach.

    Hey fonzie,
What pic you looking at, the brindle dog looks nothing like any of those, looks like a pretty standard sized stafford to me.

A stafford needs to be game to win......and be able to go through a keep. After an education taking lumps along the way. Then you got to keep him relaxed at the venue.

All of the above and more are required.....Thats why you dont see SBT in the fastlane but may have heard of a few on the amateur circuit. A game dog needs breeding, schooling and handling. Its a serious endeavour and having a caliber dog increases the chances of winning.

And thats what its about.....WINNING. Unless you just get kicks from seeing a dog take a hiding for nothing.

Thats not what the box is about. Thats a game test for someone who dont know what to look for.....Unless your backing the other dog!

i dont need a lecture about the box, neither many on here. more than breeding, schooling and handling, experience and knowing your dogs are more important. very redundant and repetitive.
have you had any of your doggies against a mountain lion or bull longer than 20 minutes? or maybe a group of coyotes fighting against it, not out of fear?
for you and many may not be worthy of being called gameness? for me is about having balls taking punishment and not giving up ( i want to call it nutness), a simple task some proven boxdogs couldnt take because they lack nutness

i must warn you there is no freedom of speech there. the moment you dont agree with the crowd and say something about their dogs (by the way the worst examples representing the breed) you get banned. plus dont you dare disagree with few of the booksmart fellas moderating the forum. dont believe all i say just go and join. the moment i joined i thought i was gonna have a heart attack reading all the garbage these ignorants write all the time. and the majority of staffords? well detrimental is the word that comes to mind

Lol yes .Dogs firing up is frowned apon.Breaking sticks are not necessary ,dogs taller than 14 inches seem to be questionable wether or not they are staffs and on and on.
