\In case you are not aware: Merle is not a recognized color for this breed. The merle pattern came in from breeding other breeds into APBTs. Therefore, merles are mutts.

Blues were actually a rare color for this breed at one point. Obviously, not any more. The purpose of this thread is to see if anyone knows of any game blues that actually existed back in the day (before the recent popularity of the color). They did exist in some lines. But, it was rare.

Your to quick with your reply's and need to read a little about merles. Because from what i looked up on the merles is that they are still doing test to see how the color is coming out when none of the parents are merle. That goes for my merle her Dam and Sire werent merle at all. They were Red/Red nose. So im not saying that they arent mutts but i would rather call them crosses.

Nevertheless, it is a genetic defect and all dogs that exhibit this trait should be removed from any breeding program. If you have done the research as you say, you will agree with this. You know and I know that all dogs (with the exception of the extreme rare case of a genetic defect) are bred with other breeds or "crossed" as you call it to get this trait. I stand by my statement. It is just another trait BYBs use to make more money and call mutts "pits".

blue/merle "pits"??? wrong direction there. just gotta ask, have these pups had any health issues yet? both type dogs have been known to have health issues. not crackin on your dogs, but are you gonna keep breeding these dogs? and what are they registered as, and by whom?
tommyt said it perfect,,,i was wondering about game pits of the past that were blue.
