Came across this nice 9 point today. Too bad it died last year. Means I'm in the right spot though. Lol

Been smoking on real good Billy Kimber since 6am. It's now 4:30. I'm exhausted, stoned, hungry and making my way out the woods now.

No deer yet but I sure had a great day exploring and mapping out the area. I did have one sneek up on me to about 13 yards before I even noticed it. Was smoking a bowl and I think it wanted to hit it. Lol.

Dogs will be eating good this week.

They always eat good but this is a special time of the year where they probably eat better than any other quarter of the year due to hunting season.

A few photos of my other spot out in Crawford country. Lot of good signs and I seen quite a few deer yesterday. Today was Pennsylvanias first legal Sunday hunt. The weather was crap but I still went out anyway. Had 1,200 acres all to myself this morning.

    I always check for them.

I got lyme disease 4 years ago from a deer tick. I spend more time when in the woods looking at my legs and arms for ticks than I do looking out for deer.

Funny how as a kid we had them all the time as we were in the woods just about every day. I never remember anyone with Lyme disease My mom says the same thing. I remember having to pop down in front of the couch while she searched my scalp.

Now where I live we have seed ticks in pockets. You could walk all over this fifty acres and never have a one. Make one wrong step and your white sock will turn brown in seconds. Amazing.

I mix permethrin and mineral oil and spray my boots and pant legs in the summer when we are out and about.

After the nuclear fall out and a million years from now when the Twinkies and Big Mac's finally rot and all the cock roaches have faced extinction, these little seed ticks will still be kicking/biting.

It really depends on the area you live. Up here Deer ticks are notorious for handing out lyme disease. Runs rampant up here. Your good if you get them off you with in 48 hours. After that though, if they have it, you now do as well.

I had one on me and I didn't realize it for 3 days. Was on my lower back area where your love handles would be if you have them lol I don't, and I just never even noticed it. 3 days later I woke up out of a sound sleep with insane side pain. When I went and checked it out in the mirror I had a 10 inch bullseye on my side the the engorged female deer tick still attached. I pulled it out and flushed it. Then went and seen my Dr. I ended up needing a pretty large dose of Doxycycline for 14 days.

Was told I'm good now but could still end up with the arthritic symptoms from the lyme disease later down the road.

People on FB recommended the permithin and I would use it as I already buy it to spray the dogs and their area weekly with it but I don't want the deer to smell it as well so I just make do. Lol.

I can see where geographic location could play a part. We have it here but, no more than I know, most I hear about is years later. My buddy never had an issue with allergies of any sort. He ate a fast food restaurant, got his motorcycle and went into shock. Luckily he drove right into the rescue squad's parking lot and laid his bike down.

Many tests and several weeks later it was the remnants of Lyme disease he never knew he had from years later.
