Are Patterdales dog aggressive?

On the average are Patterdale terriers as dog aggressive as Pitbulls?

 

no but if their strong hunting instincts aren't satisfied in some way then like lots of working bred terriers their frustrations can manifest as dog aggression.

 

I think some could be Sai.They are "Terriers" so yes some could be as agressive towards other dogs.Depends on the indavidual.I have had Jack Russells for a long time and they will start a fight in a second.

 

surely a terrier that wants to fight another dog is a liability at a dig and is certainly frowned upon by the digging men i know?

 

And I am surely your correct.But that desnt mean they won't pop up in a litter.

A lot of them are but as a rule most people don't want that. Mine are retarded and I've had to fix em up on more than a few occasions when I was sure they wouldn't make it

 

I wanted to get a pup from this guy at rancho fiasco,,,
he has bred jacks for along time and shows them as well as hunts with them,,,
he also has a couple pats whom I was hoping he might breed as the man he got them from is a hard culler and hunts them more often,,,
I offended this guy when I told him I would take one off the pat male to a jack bitch as his show instinct kicked in,,,
lol,,, but he also has some nice long dogs and is a good dogman if he just got over the show mentality...

well in his two patterdales he has raised and the couple dozen jacks,,,
the two pats are intact males that can be kenneled together,,,
he said its a combo of good genetics,,, raising and get them out often for a hunt or at least exersize,,,
they hunt well together and with the jacks he has also and are not considered hard by no means...

his jacks are the exact oppisite on the other hand,,, hard to keep together with out fights,,,
and alot more of them have been a hard nose terrier than the two patts he has experienced...

I would love a hybrid of the two types,,, but really seeking a pat from j.herrera from mountaintop kennels if anybody knows of them,,, or has their blood...

I notice things about dogs and do evalute colors as much as health,,, personalities,,, bloodlines,,, breeds etc...
the thing I notice is what I would call "THE WHITE EFFECT" in which white dogs are either retardedley slow and shows signs of being an albino,,, deaf/dumb and blind OR...

The jack russels,,, the english bull terriers,,, the dalmations all are crazy fast paced dogs that cane get enough of anything including themsleves sometimes,,, chasing things back and forth to the point their tale is the opposition...

I dont know if that terrier attitide is just ten fold,,, or a genetic issue needs examined...

I also know another man that belongs to the same jrt club as rancho fiasco and might have also had some champion bulldogs,,, he has had the opposite effect as he likes his jacks better that the couple pats he has dealt with,,, again I think his jacks are more sound bred and the pats he ends up with are giving to him from terriermen that dont like hard terriers and know he can handle them...

with this examination,,, I would gladly take one from a cross of the two for whoms ever listening,,, thanks...
