B & B hickory

    I actually prefer to.cook whole chickens.The deal was they wanted 8 bucks for a whole chicken lol.I looked over and their is a 10 lb sack of leg quarters for same price.Shit even the dogs got a little .

    I used Dales and put a light rub from Mr.A.C. Leggs .Good stuff.Cooked it about 225 ,very juicy.I just put sauce on one side and leave the other side without.

    Ive used Alegro its good.I always use Dales and a little go a long way .It don't take long to marinate.I've had to teach people how to use Dales lol.Some use to much and let it stay on to long and they like dam its to salty lol.That looks like a good rub and ill try anything once.I make a good rub but when I'm out I always turn to A.C. Legg .I even put that on top of the potatoe salad Saturday .lol

    It is salty.I even water it down if I'm bag marinating .Ill use about a cup of dales and a cup of water.Steaks about a teaspoon per side for around 45 mins.

    Dales on a steak???? Nooooo! Lol
    I like to taste my steak, no marinade very little seasoning if any. Garlic a must and salt and pepper! That's it!

    When I was a kid I hated steak, had to have it cooked well done with ketchup....then I met a Dogman who knew how to cook a steak. I'v never been the same, a little bloody and YUM!

    On the steaks I'm good with salt and pepper. Nothing else.

    I like BBQ sauces but mostly on the side.

    I'm not much on marinating or dry/wet rubs.

    I do dress the skin when we cook whole hogs, but moreso to make the skin better for cracklings/skins afterwards.

    My wife says I'm boring in that sense.

    Salt and pepper, I'm good.

    I'm a 'meat and heat' guy on the grill.
