Two Alleged Dogfighting Operations Raided in Eastern Ala.

The Humane Society of the United States "tip" line helps lead to arrests
RANDOLPH COUNTY, AL - Authorities raided two alleged dogfighting operations in Randolph County, Ala. The district attorney for Alabama's Fifth Judicial Circuit, E. Paul Jones, led the raid in which two people were arrested and 45 dogs along with dogfighting paraphernalia were seized.
The Humane Society of the United States supplied information that led to Monday's actions.
Newell, Ala., property
William Alsabrook, the apparent owner of the operation in Newell, Ala., was charged with two counts of possession of dogs for fighting. Authorities seized a total of 25 dogs from the property, some showing scars consistent with dogfighting, and dogfighting paraphernalia. HSUS intelligence indicates that Alsabrook sold dogs nationwide since the 1970s.
Roanoke, Ala., property
Artis Kyle, the apparent owner of the operation in Roanoke, Ala., was charged with one count of possession of dogs for fighting, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Authorities seized 20 dogs along with dogfighting paraphernalia from the property. Some of the dogs had scars consistent with dogfighting.
"Dogfighting is a criminal underground industry that breeds horrible animal suffering and violence," said Mindy Gilbert, Alabama state director for The Humane Society of the United States. "We commend the District Attorney's office for Alabama's Fifth Judicial Circuit and Fifth Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, led by Aris Murphy and David Cofield, for their unwavering commitment to rooting out illegal animal fighting in our state."
Dr. Melinda Merck, forensic veterinarian and leader of American Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals' CSI Unit, assisted with the raid and evaluated the seized dogs for evidence of animal fighting.

I personally know and love William and his wife and grandkids!!!!!! Ive spent a lot of time with him and his family! I used to park my semi truck in his driveway on weekends!!!!!!!! He is not a dogfighter! He has some of the best blood but never did anything with them except breed them!! these people are morons!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad:

 

Yes his dogs were in the utmost of health! he monitored thier weights carefully to ensure that their weight stayed consistant and healthy. Ive been there many a weekend watering them for him while he tended feeding and cleanup.

 

His dogs were ALL people friendly except a few he was boarding for friends.

 

Im gonna log off for a bit. I need to calm down! too many dogs I know and love of his to think about! they will probably take my bitches dam who is now his grandson Jacks dog and they will probably say its a scarred up fighter and put lady josephine down. William has fought sooo hard to keep from any negative apbt aspects to keep his grandkids and now this. I can only pray for my dear friends and hope God helps him and punishes the persecutors of innocent people.

I dont want to make anyone mad but if the Judge signed off on that warrant then most likely they do have evidence of some kind. They most likely had legal right to search & seizure so based on that discovery this kennel is f***ed. It cost the state big money to go in and sieze that many dogs theyre not playin! First off in Ca. nobody here can legally own 45 dogs or everyone will think somethings wrong with you. Maybe it was an informant you know Michael Vicks back. Maybe the boyz entered the premises because a house member was a felon on searcheble probation. They find dope, pipes, firearms, scars on 25 dogs how the f*** can anyone defend that. These people are an imbarrasement to me thats the way i look at it

Kinda strange how they salvaged 20 dogs in Ca they would just clean you out, they'l empty ur aquarium if you have the wrong fish.

I know for a fact He had no dogfighting paraphanelia and he sold his treadimll years ago. he kept nothing that would jeopordize keeping custody of his grandchildren.
