Just wanted to know if anyone uses bark collars for bark control. Got one that no matter what, will bark all day if I don't just give in. Never really had this issue as there dogs and they speak their own way....but damn she can bark....anyways if you're using them could you give me a good brand name that worked or is working g for you....gyps around 30 lbs...

I use the Petsafe brand ones they sell at Tractor Supply. Never had one continue to keep barking after getting lit up a few times. They learn pretty quickly to STFU. Been using them for years with no issues. Works very well for me and mine. Down side is some will learn they can whine still and the collar won't go off. Sometimes I'd rather they barked as the whining irritates me more. Lol. The younger you introduce them to it the more success you'll have with them. I've had success using them on both youngins and older dogs as well.

I've heard others say they didn't work for them but I have yet to have one continue to yap after getting lit up by one of those. It Guages the bark. A soft bark gets a little jolt. A loud bark gets the full load. They don't like that shit too much at all and learn pretty quickly how to avoid it. By shutting the fuck up. Lol
I've used them for at least 10 years now and many that have come through here have worn them.

I've even tried it myself and it's not exactly a pleasant feeling lmao.

Haggle, worked out nearly as cheap for me but that was years ago. Postage from the US tends to put the price up on things when they're sold on retail.

I get bark collars off eBay with a red strap and their usually around $5 or $6 bucks. I bet you can get them shipped to the UK from there. The ones I get come from Japan. They work great for me.

They ship shit all over the world...! I tried a bark collar yeeeears ago it would burn 2 big holes in my dogs neck,,,,real nasty fleshy looking. My dog had a very high tolerance to pain.Plus if the prongs weren't line up just right it didn't work.Forget about a chain set up to many collars. It worked for a couple of days and that was it.Back then I always wished they made a collar without the burning prongs a collar lined with a thin rod that would just zap the whole neck evenly without any burns. You wouldn't even need a high zapper just enough to say no excessive barking.I;m sure they make a better collar these days...! I'm lucky,,,no barkers here,,,,I hate barkers unless it's watch dog duty.I have a patterdale that barely barks unless she see's a varmit from an indoor window she can't get at LOL.I won't buy barkers,,,like jadgs,,,great dog but huge YAPPERS,,,,patts are more like bulldogs not so high strung when nothing is going on.

Mine are on a chain set up and I use them all the time. I love in the city and my neighbors call the human society on me so much they quit coming over and now just call me on the phone

When I was in the city I didn't like the dogs barking. Now I'm in the country I don't care at all. They can bark all day and night if they want and sometimes they do lol. We exercise freedom of speech around here.

Lol, I wish I was out in the country. Hopefully in a few years I'll make that happen. I strongly believe in a dogs right to exercise their right to freedom of speech also, lol!

I'd let mine bark their faces off if it was up to me too. However, that can bring a whole lot of unwanted attention by not curbing the behavior while in city limits. WD knows, we keep them quiet as to be civil neighbors even though we both live next to total assholes. Lmao.

lol I hear ya completely, you know I do! I'm still a new country boy. I remember very clearly what living was like it the city. You can't have the dogs barking like that for sure.

There are two type of bark collars. One is the automatic bark collar and the other is the manual remote control. Price ranges from $50.00 up to and sometimes over $100.00. Also depending on how often the collar is used you have to buy those coin type batteries. The automatic bark collar activates when there is enough vibrations/sound so make sure she is not close to any type of sounds that could trigger the collar accidentally. Even another dog barking close to her chain spot could activate the collar if the other dog is close enough LOL. If one is away for prolong periods of time the automatic one is best as it increases in intensity after ever other continuous bark. Intensities can range from 1 being the least painful to as high as 10 being the most painful and let me fucking tell you after level 5 I aint want no more of that shit especially on my neck area. LMAO It also has to be set right on the dogs neck or else it wont work. Rain/water could also have a effect on the collar as water and electric dont mix LOL Also the bark collar wont work on the most stubborn of dogs as it will actually do more harm to them then help solve the barking problem. When I say harm its both physical as well as mental harm as a dog barking intermittedly through out the day for 8-10hrs a day and getting shocked couple hundred times a day could psychologically fuck up your dog mentally, yawl remember when they did shock treatments on humans, it did not go very well, in fact in made some people crazier then they were before LOL.

On the most stubborn of barkers the best bet is too get them DEBARKED. $350.00-700.00 might seem like a lot for debarking but in the long run it will save you a life time of headaches, plus you wont have to worry about the dog getting shocked out of his/her mind and possible go insane. LOL
