If you want to know how good a line is or it's traits it is best to go ask a breeder of that bloodline. When I say breeder I am not talking about someone who has purchased to dogs from that line and bred them together. To find out real traits you need to find a breeder who has been breeding that line for several generations.

If you have questions about this blood why not just ask P. Patrick http://www.bolio.net/

Rugged and toughness with good bone structure, good air and mouth but most famous for consistantly throwing gameness!

Bolio dogs are known for being game as redboy dogs. But they are more durable and some even have decent mouth. I run brake strain bolio dogs. These are some exceptional good dogs. Here's a couple of peds of my dogs:

In my opinion the Bolio dogs are the full package deal they are a great size (small) durrable, show decent mouths, just a tough rugged dog. They cross very well with just about anything as well...

I just purchased a dog...the breeder told me it was Bolio/Tombstone bloodline. The dog is only 10 weeks.

I have another question regarding the guard/protection ability of a pitbull. Can anyone speak on this topic?

They will do it on their own if you are in danger.....its a special sense they can pick up on that you cant. DO NOT TRAIN HIM TO BE PROTECTIVE OR A GUARD DOG! Socialize him as best you can so he gets familiar with new people. Your dog will be there when it counts naturally, you do not have to train them. If you want a guard dog get a presa canario or german sheppard.

bprice can you post the ped on that pup you just got? I plan on breeding a female (if she turns out)I have to Amboss as soon as I move back to the N.E. in 18mos.

Great piece of advice right there. Too many people want a pit bull for a gaurd/attack dog and have no idea what they are getting into. This breed is wonderful when it comes to KNOWING when his family is in danger. When he knows this, he will protect. No Questions Asked!!!

bprice, all you need to do with a pitbull is to show it all the love you can and it will return the favor, my house dog is like my on son, we have company all the time he wouldn't hurt anyone, but you let someone try to break in on me, they would never reach me, just like 14rock said they have that natural instinct, never try to train a pitbull to be aggressive and you'll be fine. ;)

Hes the dog in my avatar.

I read somewhere that MAURICE CARVER said that the BOLIO Dogs were his best without a doubt.

Ive got to concur on the guard dog issue. That was one mistake Ill never make again. Also, is 39 lbs about the average "bolio" weight? Seems to be.

Pitbulls can sense your fear which turns on a little switch in their mind telling them that something isn't right. That's when they get alert and WILL protect if nessicary. Again you don't need to TRAIN them to protect. It comes natural.

  19. bolio dogs, when found in the right place=total package...or the bolio cross into other strains of that same family, whooooaaaa you got a lil beastio!! theres just as many bad as good 1's,but when you get a good 1 you will never let that lil shart go lol...

  20. intensity, fire. All lines have gameness. Good head and chest dogs. Scream in the cornes and do bite if u dont let them go fast enough. Good structure. And crosses well with almost anything. Even just a 1/4 of Bolio blood will make a difference.
