boudreaux dogs

I have some dogs i got off Mr Boudreaux about 3 or 4 years ago.
They are off Mary Mary, Little Buddy and Reno. Plus i have a dog and a bitch out of Law and Lil Twister. I was wondering if anyone out there has experience crossing these dogs with different bloodlines with success. I have access to some Banjo stuff, some Sorrel Dogs, some Sorrel X Jeep dogs and Sorrel X Boudreaux dogs and was considering getting some Stompanato/ Monkeydog blood that would help improve my dogs. Thanks in advance...

 

i just got a male that is 65% Boudreaux and 10 % Jeep and 25% Redboy bloodlines. He is too young to tell much yet, but I got high hopes for him. He seems like he has a good natural bite . i have always wanted to try the Boudreaux bloodline as i guide for wild Boar and they say they make real catchdogs. I wanted a pure Boudreaux dog, but ended up with this bloodline. I think the redboy blood should put a no quit attitude in him.

 

the question is 'what are your dogs lacking?' and then you can go from there.

 

More stamina would be good, as i hunt in hot humid conditions and i have found that many of them don't cope as well as the cross breeds of have run before.

 

eli/bolio cross usually makes for pretty good natural wind.

post the peds of your dogs if you can

like the eli jr through toby or nigerino....it's weather you believe you have that eli jr through t-bud depends on which ped u consider correct. wouldn't out those dogs. Take that one out of twister to the one out of blk betty tighten up on the nigerino.

I have heard that Sorrells cross well with Eli from some old timers. We will find out in the future.

 

Is there any toby/art blood out there. I think that would make a great cross. What would be the potential attributes of this cross.

B Sorrells is what she is saying...heard the same as well. I heard machines. They were used in the MI area and weren't sold. Then again good tight bred to good tinght bred dogs is usaully high %'s.

JMO I think the cross your looking to do, isn't a cross just more of a loose line breeding. I would go with a heavy Eli jr. dog. Something like this one.

Alot of good advice here but I cant believe not one person said anything about Banjo. Maybe Im just partial because thats ONE of my favorite lines but what Ive seen down from him has been hard biting, dead serious bulldogs. We had a little 30lb gyp who hung in there with a BIG ass hog who threw her all over the thicket and she never batted and eyelash. Best of luck with your cross. YIS, B.

 

thanks for that... we have used a banjo daughter with great success... and will probably keep sticking to that.
